Prolouge part 1:
A tanned girl, with long black hair woke up and saw her room for the first time this day. Her black eyes searched the dark room, and what she saw was nothing new. It was the same old stuff. The same huge windows, that covered the floor to the ceiling. It was the same book shelves at the end of her dark green room, it was the same wall that was covered with a mirror. It was the same old fireplace, chairs, table, wardrobe that covered another wall and the same many-sized bed in black. The only thing that was changed was the huge bag that was in the right corner. It was almost full, all she needed to add in it was the make-up things.
She took a deep breath, yawned, closed her eyes and feel a sleep.
Many hours later, her room was lighted and she heard a sweet voice talk to her while taking the curtains away from the windows to let the sun in. "Good morning Merope, so nice that you finally awoke. It is breakfast in half an hour." the female voice said. "Yeah, I'll be there mom." Merope answered and heard her mom walking out of the room, mumbling some words Merope didn't understand.
The eleven-year-old-girl stood up and walked to her wardrobe, took out a pair of black jeans and a dark green sweater before she walked into her own bathroom to take a shower and wake up. It was a bubble bath there, a sink and a toilette, all in white/gold colours.
After fifteen minutes at the bathroom, Merope walked down the many floors to enter the kitchen, seeing her mom getting ready for breakfast, a male house-elf who was doing the cooking and another house-elf, female this one, who was serving her mom and she knew that she was going to serve her when she took a seat.
She took a bite of the food the house-elfserved her, she never asked what it was. Why should she talk to someone that worked for her? Why should she ask someone that was under her? "So, today is the day. Are you going to see young Mr. Malfoy before his train goes?" Lucinda, Merope's mother said in her sweet voice.
"Yes, I am mother. I wont see him in a long while so of course I will." She answered sarcastically and no one said anything for a long while, they just ate in silence. "Well, I know you have packed your bag, Tida can finish it for you so you can go and visit Mr. Malfoy Jr if you want. Just be here a 12:00pm."
Merope stood up, thanked for the food and walked out into the huge hallway, took her long, black robe on, and walked out of the Riddle mansion with a sad smile.
Today was the day she had to say good bye to a really good friend of hers, Draco Malfoy. He didn't live far away from Merope's house, but it took a while before she could see that Malfoy's mansion. Lucius Malfoy, a Death Eater, was an old friend of Merope's father, and both of the fathers said that their kids could be no friends under no surkomstances, but it didn't end that way. Ten years ago, when Merope was only a year old, her father died and things changed. She was allowed to be with Draco because her mother thought it was a good idea. She don't remember anything of her time with her father, all she now knows is that she is going to either kill Harry James Potter right away herself, or torture him till he dies, because she know that he is the reason her father died, and anyone who hurts her family, leaves her with no pity.
But everything is so difference then that. Because in years, Merope thought she was going to go on the same school as Harry Potter and then she could figure out who he was in person and find his weaknesses, so she could easier kill him. He would not know who she was, no one would, because she would use her mothers last name, the name no one really knows. But again, it didn't end that way, because Merope was to enter a new school, a school her father wanted her to go to, a school he didn't hesitate to write Merope into, a school that was into the Dark Arts - a lot, they didn't care for astronomy, care for magical creatures, divination and history of magic, it was a school named Galtvort, a school for dark witches and wizards. All Merope knew about this school was that they was really into Defence Against Dark Arts, or was it just Dark Arts with no defence? It was actually Lord Tom Riddle, her father who invented the school. He wasn't accepted to be a teacher in Hogwarts, so he created his own school.
She stopped in front of a large door, it was dark brown and not so huge as the door to her own mansion. A female house-elf opened it and Merope entered. The house-elf took her obe and said that she would get Mr. Malfoy Jr right away and left. Minutes passed by and then she heard footsteps and saw the pale, white face that belonged to the boy she had seen so many times in her last ten years. "Merope! We're not going to the same school, did you know? I just heard it from father." Draco said with a sensation of sorrow in his voice as he gave Merope the same hug he always gave her when they met. "Yes, I found it out the last week, I didn't tell you because I wasn't sure how to, forgive me." she said in a quiet voice and they both walked into the living room where they sat down at the large, black leather couch. "Oh, well. We have the owls so we can still owl each other, and I can write and tell you how this Potter is."
Draco Malfoy knew about what happened and what Merope's plans were because she had told him about it and she never regretted that she did. It was nice to have someone to talk to. The only thing she didn't tell him was about her name. Her name, Merope, was the name of her father's mother. Her father hated her because he thought that if his mother was a witch she wouldn't let herself dye when giving birth, but she did and that's the reason for why he hated her so much. Why he wanted to gave his daughter that name, Merope, she didn't know, but she had thought that she could ask her father about it later in her life, but now she would never get to know and that was to her the most painful thing int he world, never getting to know why her own father, who she loved so much, would give her a name of a person that he hated so much.
"I have an idea, can you try to be friends with him? In the beginning at least? If he turns your friendly hand down, then I don't care what you do. But I think it can be a clever idea to at least give a friendly hand out." she said with her thoughtful voice. "I don't see the reason for a thought like that, but I can do that if it means so much for you Merope." Merope smiled by the words and hugged him.
They talked about their usually things for hours, before Merope had to leave. "I see you soon. This is no good bye Draco Malfoy. I wont see you in many years because of the school that I'm going to, well it is a full time school, the only times we have free is during the weekends and I s'pose I will be spending a lot time with homeworks then." "What about vacations? will you not come home then?" Draco asked with the sweetest tone she had ever heard him speak in. She knew that he would miss her, and she him, but it was something that needed to be done. "No, the school really has no time for vacations, then I wouldn't be done before I turned thirty! I'll miss you a lot Draco, don't forget about me. We'll meet again." Merope kissed Draco's chin and walked away. She didn't want to hear the words Draco said to her, she didn't want to feel miserable, all she knew wa that it would take years before she met him again, and then everything would be difference.
After the walk home, everything went on so fast. She entered the living room, and there stood her mom and her aunt, her moms sister, with her two daughters, Merope's cousins. Behind them was a huge cake, with the writing of: Good Bye Lady Merope Riddle, we'll miss you a lot!!
Merope didn't want to, but she felt tears coming in her eyes and she hugged everyone in her family. She missed her father, and was angry that she didn't have one relative left from his family, and she was sad for thinking that, and so sad because she knew that she wouldn't see her family in years. To be exact, she wouldn't see her family in nine to ten years, that deepens on how good the student did on the exam they have in the ninth year, if they do bad they have one more chance. The school time was long, she knew that. And she knew that in the end, she would be happy for this, even though it meant that she wouldn't see her family in nine to ten years.
She said good byes to her family an hour later and then she and her mom went into the fireplace to enter a train station. The station was not an ordinary station, because it was two fireplaces there, one for arrivals and one for people that wanted to leave. Merope saw many people, and they all had the some sort of a dark green robe on with an even darker snake on. `Must be some sort of an uniform´, she thought.
"Mom, I don't have books, robes and all that!" she said almost flipping out as she thought of school uniforms. She was so used to have other people doing that for her, and she has never needed things like that. `How could I forget? It must be the only thing I had to remember!´ she thought to herself and her mom was just calm. "Calm down my sweet Lady Merope. The robe you are wearing are the school robe uniform. And you have a bag with all the things you'll ever need. Your wand you have in your robe and your owl are right here. Don't you think I have things like this sorted?" Lucinda smiled and rolled her eyes in a funny way before she took her daughter to the first compartment on the train.
"But this robe is black, the others are dark green. And why are we going here? Everyone are looking at us mom, I don't this room are for students." she wanted to stop and walk to a room where people were going to, but her mom took her in her arm and dragged her to the first room without a word.
They walked into the compartment and Merope was a little surprised over it's looks. It was blood red walls, with two black chairs, a black couch and a black table. A door told her that there was a personal toilette there as well. Merope was so surprised over this when she saw her mom taking a seat at the couch and started to talk. "This room are for the Riddle family. The other students looked at us because we walked into this room, therefore they now know who you are. The Riddle family also have another different robe then the other students, yours are black, the other students are dark green. You have a dark green snake on the back with red eyes, they have just a dark green snake." she stopped, took a deep breath and paused to let Merops think over what she had just said. Merope could see that her mom wanted to say more, so she kept quiet even thoughs he wanted to speak up. "Tom wanted this, Merope. He wanted to treat his family differently then the other students. He wanted to give his family something else then the usuall clothes, therefore he gave his family a black robe, with a dark green snake with red eyes on and the students a dark green one with a darker snake on the back. You will have the same books as the others, but your wand is again something else. I don't know what it is about your wand exactly, Tom never told me, but he did tell me one thing. That your wand is one of the more powerful ones. Your wand allows you to do some weak powers without you touching it, thought you need to have it close.
There is so much more to this school then I can tell you. In your bag you will find several books covered in black and grey, they have no title but it is the story of this school, they have some spells in them, and they will explain so much more then I can tell you at this moment. Read the carefully, and don't read them all at once and forget them. Please Merope, read them carefully over time, you can read them as many times as you want, and please do. Read the books at least once a year, in the end you will see why. I have to go now, I love you darling. And I'm sure your father would as well."
She walked over to her daughter and kissed the top of her head and hugged her tightly. "I love you to mom. I'll miss you deeply." Merope said in her mothers chest and followed her mother to the door and did as many many other students who were on the train, she waived goodbye to her mother and took a really good picture of her mother in her mind, because this is the last time at nine years, she would see her.
The train gave a loud sound and Merope walked into her room again. She took a seat near the window and saw the world she was raised up in fly away behind her. She would never forget about it, at least so she hoped.
