It was a damp and rainy day, the weather casting a shadow over many moods, including Catalina's. She was in a sad state of affairs on this particular day and the weather made it worse. But, she would hide it from any one that noticed, for that was what she was good at.
Just another smile, another laugh, and everything will look alright. With a sigh, she sat down at a table in the Three Broomsticks, staring pointedly at each face in the pub. Most people were with others, laughing and having a good time.
Then there's me. Catalina growled inwardly before looking towards a young waitress headed in her direction. With a well-prepared smile, Catalina said, "Hello there, how are you?"
The waitress gave a grin before saying, "It's just a bi' of ripe weather, wouldn't ya say, Miss? What'll ya have?"
Catalina, with a grimace, replied, "A butterbeer along with a piece of cherry cobbler please."
The waitress nodded, walked off and was back in a matter of minutes. She set down a plate in front of Catalina with a butterbeer before walking away again.
"Just tell me if ya need sommat else, dearie!" she called from another table.
Catalina nodded and looked down at the gooey cherry cobbler. She took a bite, savoring the taste while closing the lids over her piercing deep blue eyes.
