What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Trouble in the Owlery, open Empty Trouble in the Owlery, open

Post by Guest Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:37 pm

Luna couldn't help, but race towards the Owlery, right after she had received a letter from her parents. She had felt like it had been such a long time since she last heard from them. She knew it was completely her own fault that she didn't see them often. Still... they were her parents and she loved them. They were doing fine. They wrote. They were in Spain visiting her brother. Luna had to admit, she was glad she wasn't with them there. She wrote a letter there in the Owlery, so much she couldn't wait to have done it somewhere else. Now she didn't have her own bird. She wasn't too fond of birds. So, she would have to use one of the schools. Unfortunately for her, the owl she had picked didn't seem to want to help her own. Tying her letter to the owl. She threw the bird out the window. The bird however, came back and flew to the other side of the Owlery. Great. This was just great.

Once more she picked up the bird. It was going to leave, and it was going to leave NOW! "Why won't you go?!" she yelled at it. Attempting to throw it out the window once more. But this time the bird pecked her. "Why you!" She chased the bird for some time. It was a good thing that no one was in there at that moment. Other wise, what a fool she would have looked. "Come here!" She yelled at it. "At least give me back my letter!" She gave up, as the bird flew out of her reach. Now what? She sighed, she would just have to wait for the bird to come back down. It had to right?

Luna's eyes stayed on the bird, even when she heard someone walk into the owlery and say hello. She was going to get that bird if it was the last thing she did. "Hello," she said without turning her head. It was rude of her, she knew, but she had to keep sight of that bird. If it wasn't going to deliver letter, she didn't want it to go anywhere until she got it back. However, she did nod her head in the other girl's direction. "I'm having a little trouble with this bird. You see, it has my letter, but it won't deliver it," she informed the other girl. Hoping, that that would explain way she seemed a little angry. Though at this point, she was ready to strangle the bird. Calm down... she thought to herself. It's just a letter, everything will be fine...

Mariana heard what the girl said. She wondered would it be rude if she laughs, but she resisted the temptation. "Hello my name is Mariana." said Mariana searching for her snowly owl Hedvig with her eyes for a bit. After a while she finally spotted it sleeping on the top of owlery: "Hedvig!" she yelled as gentle as she could.Owl looked at her with rather //why did you wake me// eyes and landed on her shoulder.

"I'm Luna," she said lightly, and rather proudly. As she looked away from the owl quickly. And it had moved! She lost it for a moment but quickly found it again. She smiled lightly as the bird finally dropped the letter. "Not all school bir- owls are like this one is it?" She start calling them owls instead of birds. Sure they were birds, still maybe the didn't like that. Did owls have feelings? She picked up the letter and hugged it to her for a moment. She wouldn't have been too happy if she lost it. She knew there was no way she could rewrite another letter with all the same emotion. There was no way she could duplicate it.

"No ofcourse not." replied Mariana smiling at stubborn owl: "If you need a mailman Hedvig can drop a letter when she goes to London." she said wanting to help the girl and showing her snowly owl: "She might not be happy about it though, but than again...." added Mariana in Luna's ear: "She doesn't like much idea of delivering mine either so we are at same." she finished as owl just stood on her shoulder offering a claw to tie up her letter.

Luna laughed lightly. It was weird to think, that knowing human behavior was so easy to her, but when it came to animals... well that was another story. And to think that most people had more problems with humans. At least if two people spoke the same language, things could be understood much easier. But animals were different. "That'll be helpful thanks." She smiled, this really was much more helpful. "I've been thinking I needed an owl, but...." she trailed off for a moment. If she asked her parents for one, that would have been just one more think for her brother to put against her. "Well, I guess, I'll haven't been able to get one. Truthfully, I'm happy with just my cat."

"You can use Hedvig now,but for later I wouldn't really know how to help you." said Mariana truthfully trying to figure out something that could actually solve this apsurb problem although she couldn't think of anything good right now: "You just tie it for her leg and tell her where to deliver it and problem solved for now." said Mariana who just finished tieing her letter for Hedvig;s leg before Hedvig gave her leg to Luna so she can tie up her letter.

"Don't worry about it. I'm thankful that you're helping me out now," Luna said lightly. She tied her letter to the owl, and told the bird-owl she tried to remind herself. "Maybe, I'm just unlucky today," which couldn't be true. Because if she really thought it over, she really ought to be somewhat nicer to the owls. "If not, I'm think I'm going to have to ask my grandparents for one." That saved her any trouble from her older brother. Also, her grandmother had wanted to get her an owl. She always said, they were good, useful animals. Really, Luna thought it was just an excuse for her grandmother to buy an owl. "They aren't like this in general though are they?"

"Depends of an owl.If you want me to give you advise about owls I can tell you what you should do when they arrive from some long trip/" said Mariana who was already an expirienced owl scientist since Hedvig was a intresting one: "When they come back from some long trip you should with no exuce give tham to eat something from your plate so they don't get stubborn like this one." she said smiling pointing her wand at Hedvig who looked at her with her stubborn eyes,
