Hello PAers,
As you may or may not have heard through your talking boxes, or your paper with words, over the last few days Australia has been plagued by a series of deadly, ferocious fires. it all started when our temperatures tipped the 40 degree celcius mark nation wide, for several days. This, combined with our naturally flammable eucalyptus trees, and years of foliage gathering, we have burst alight. Not to mention dickheads lighting fires, which have now escalated to some of the worse we have. So far, the confirmed death toll stands at 181 people, with more than 80 missing, and the fires still going on. There have been many stories of hapiness throughout the situation, and many, many more of tradgedy. As the fires burn on, we hear stories of people attempting to flee the fires at the last minute, not being able to see through the smoke, and running into fallen trees, or the like. The other side of the stories, are people staying at their homes, trying to defend all that they have worked hard for over the past years, and perishing. We have houses that have fallen completely... and houses, not 3 metres away, that have escaped unharmed.
I really just thought that you should all know, there wasn't any intended question or anything, i just wanted you all to know what was happening.
