A Birth day

Jada looked at Finn and at Minos, and when Minos looked at her, he and Jada stared at each other for a moment, and Angus was certain he saw a look of some sort of recognition when he looked at her. Angus wanted to ask him if he knew Jada, but he didn't want to embarrass or stress Jada. Minos flew to Ruby and motioned for her to follow him. He fluttered to the kitchen and pointed out the plate of bread that they had just had for lunch, and he pointed to a jar of honey and then pointed to Jada. He wanted Ruby to put some butter and honey on a slice of bread for Jada.

"Is that the first you've seen a fairy?" Angus asked Jada, and Jada nodded. "They live here. Well, technically, they're neighbors. They have houses outside in our garden. They won't harm you. Jada, do you have family or friends somewhere?" She shook her head hurridly. "You don't have anyone?" She shook her head. She didn't have anyone. She was alone. Angus's first thought was this delicate woman reminded him of a porcelain cup. Not something that was geared to stand up to any sort of pressure. There was no way they could take her back to wherever she lived to face whatever that thing was.

Ruby saw Minos motion to her and she stood up excusing herself as she headed with Minos to the kitchen she saw him motion to the bread and honey. Taking it she buttered the bread and added the honey making several slices before she picked up the plate and walked back out. " here, I made you this, Minos thinks you might like it, honey on bread" she said and looked to Angus as she placed the plate in front of her.

Aria saw Minos motion to Ruby and they both headed to the kitchen she glanced at Marcus then back to Angus as she watched Jada's reaction to Ruby leaving. When Ruby returned with the plate Aria looked puzzled at why Minos suggested honey on bread for Jada.

Jada hadn't actually been hungry, but Angus knew Minos always had a mission and a purpose. He certainly had a reason for this too. He picked up the plate of bread and took a slice with the butter and honey and offered it to Jada. He thought she would refuse, but he was surprised that she took a slice and ate it, looking like she had been hungrier than she had perhaps originally thought. Minos seemed to be looking for some sort of knowledge, and when Jada took the bread, that seemed to tell Minos something.

Robert arrived as Jada was finishing the bread. She jumped badly when Robert arrived.

"It's okay," Angus told her levitating her teacup so she didn't spill it. "He's family. This is Robert. He's a healer." Jada seemed to cower, but Robert walked over, introduced himself, and shook hands with her. She appeared to calm instantly, and Angus was wondering if Robert had cast a calming spell on her when he shook her hand. He picked up the change of clothes that was laid out and then only spoke to Jada for a moment about wanting to tend her wounds, and when she went with him upstairs, Angus was surprised. Robert took Jada to the master bedroom to tend to her.

"Minos," Angus said, "what are you looking for?" Minos signed to him, and Angus looked completely thunderstruck. "What? No. How is that even possible?" Minos nodded, positive. Angus looked up at Ruby and Marcus and Aria. "Minos says he's absolutely positive she's half Fae. I have no idea how something like that even happens, but he says not only it is possible but there is not one little speck of doubt in his mind."

Ruby smiled as she ate the honey bread but glanced back as she heard Robert enter the duplex and saw the fear on Jada's face at his sudden entrance. She relaxed once Robert introduced himself to her and she calmed down at his touch. Ruby looked to Angus wondering if he had used a calming spell on Jada. Now she saw both of them head to change and she looked to Angus as he began to talk about Jada and what Minos suspected. "How and is that even possible? " she said when he spoke of her being half Fae.

Aria looked to Marcus and then looked back to Angus listening intently to him even she was surprised at how it was possible. " its rare I've been told, but not impossible" she said and looked to Marcus then back to Angus and Ruby.

Minos took a little piece of pencil lead and wrote one word on a piece of paper--"Grogoch." Angus looked at the piece of paper.

"What's that?" Angus asked.

"What's what?" Elwood asked.

"Grogoch?" Angus asked.

"A grogoch is a creature of Irish legend--half fae, half human," Elwood said. "In Irish legend, they're seen as rather furry, apelike creatures rather on the lines of a furry house elf."

"She doesn't look anything like a furry house elf," Angus looked at Minos. Minos rolled his eyes at Angus to show his dissatisfaction with how muggles viewed anything. Minos signed something else to Angus. "He says, as for how it happened, it happened with a male and a female. He says her beautiful features are purely Fae features, especially the turquoise eyes. And he says it explains why she's mute and the fact that she so readily ate the honey bread because Fae find sweets irresistable." Minos giggled. "He's also asking me to try to sketch the thing that was attacking Jada."

Ruby listened to Angus and Minos interaction then chuckled as Minos tried to explain " I know the how " she said with a chuckle and looked to Angus her cheeks some what flushed pink. Aria chuckled and looked to Angus and Ruby.

" well that explains that" she said " but why was that other creature after her?" she asked " and what was it" she said seeing Minos motion for him to sketch what it was he saw. " there must be something they want from her." Aria moved to the couch and sat down as they waited for Robert and Jada return.

"You did ask how, Ru," Angus laughed.

"I'll sketch it, or I'll try to, and maybe someone will know," Angus said, accio'ing his sketch pad and his sketching pencils. He worked for several minutes and before long the eerie face of an evil man-like creature was staring at him from the paper. He showed the sketch to Marcus.

"Yeah. That's it," Marcus said. Angus showed the sketch to Ruby and Aria. Then he showed the sketch to Minos, and Minos grew immediately wide eyed. He wrote again on the pad of paper.

"Faepyre."

"Faepyre? What the hell is that?" Angus asked.

"What? A faepyre here? A real one?" Elwood asked. "Dear God. A faepyre is a fae or part fae that has been turned by a vampire. So it ends up being half fae, half vampire. They're exceptionally dangerous. Muggle legend, erroneous as it always is, says there was only ever one faepyre, and it was created by Lilith herself. However, we know muggles don't know shit. And, there is a lot we hide from them because there are some things just entirely too dangerous for them to try to tinker with."

"Why would he want Jada?" Angus asked.

Minos began to write quickly on the paper, and he handed it to Angus.

"Minos says," Angus read, "a creature that is half Fae and half human would be irresistible to a faepyre because it would be powerful, magical, and irresistably sweet. They wouldn't be able to stop hunting that half fae. He says this faepyre is dark through and through, and that puts Jada in extreme danger."

Ruby blushed darker pink and nodded " guess I did" she said a making Aria chuckle at her response. She watched as Angus drew the creature he had seen going after Jada. When Minos recognised it she looked at him then to Elwood.

" sounds a really nasty thing" she said as Elwood continued to explain what the creature , the Faepyre was and how it was created " might want to let Jack know about that creature" she added " and she defiantly looks like he or it did a number on her." she said looking back at the stairs.

"She said she has nobody, no family, no friends," Angus said. "She's note safe to go back to wherever it is she stays. She's far safer with us. I realize it could put us in danger but that wouldn't be the first time. And, since we sort of understand how to communicate with people who cant speak in human language, I think she's far safer here in this house with us, even beyond the main house. But that means that if this thing hunts her, it could put us in danger and maybe the fae too."

Minos shook his head no. He signed to Angus.

"Oh. I guess I stand corrected. He says the fae won't be in danger because they're entirely too tiny to do the faepyre any good. He won't be attracted to them for the same reason that humans can't get any nutrition out of a firefly. The faepyre will only be attracted to us the same way any other vampire is attracted to a human. I don't know about you, but I'm not afraid of that. However, it is not at all fair to offer her sanctuary unless you all are in agreement. What do you think?"

"I'm in," Edward nodded. "Simone will absolutely be in. There won't be a question in her mind."

"I've been surrounded by too much murder and death to be frightened off by a vampire. I'm in," Elwood said.

Ruby and Aria both listened Aria nodded to Marcus as he spoke of Jada not being safe back where she had lived. Hearing Angus ask every one about weather they agree with him to keep Jada on the estate . Both Ruby and Aria looked at each other and then to Angus " you have our agreement" Ruby said as Aria nodded her head.

"yeah whats one more person here and Marcus is right we've delt with worse ." she said smiling as she looked at Marcus then back to Angus. " it makes sense to keep her safe , its what the organisation is all about, right?" she said with a smile. Ruby smiled and nodded she agreed too.
