"I knew you'd know better," Marcus laughed. When she said that American football looked like rugby, Marcus nodded.
Very much so," Marcus said. "But rugby has never been a popular thing in the states for some reason. You would think it would be, but no." They walked up to where Nigel and Robert were both shouting at the screen for someone to 'Get 'em, get 'em get 'em!" Then a pile of about eight guys all tackled one guy at the far end of the field.
"Oh, for crying out loud," Robert groaned.
"They don't block worth a damn," Nigel sighed. "Their defense sucks." He noticed Marcus and Aria and he elbowed Robert. "Oh, hey. They're back." Robert put the game on pause.
"It's about time. How'd it go?" Robert said.
"We got the lads that knocked you down the stairs," Marcus said, sitting on the arm of one of the empty theater chairs. "Two fifteen year olds."
"Yeah. I got the names already Littletree and Plumstone," Robert said.
"Yeah. They're on ice tonight at home with their families, and they're under surveillance, thanks to Aria's good work."
"Well done," Robert told her. "Who were they working for?"
"Well, that's the rub. They were put up to it by a woman. I showed them a photo of Suzanne and they positively ID'd her as the woman who hired them."
"Well, shit," Robert sighed. "Of course it was her."
"And, the haul they got wasn't enough. She wants about double that, and the boys are supposed to meet her tomorrow night at midnight at a coffeeshop in Puddlemere to turn over the new lot of them and get their pay."
"And what's your plan?"
"I'm planning on asking the potionsmaster there to give me a lot of them to pass on to her, and I'm going to get the boys out of it. Then I plan to find out where she's setting up shop at and why."
"Well, I think I can help you with where," Robert said. "Irene says there is an old section of the Paris subway tunnel system that hasn't been used in years and years. Muggles completely abandoned it because it wasn't structurally safe, and they weren't willing to repair it. She says there's been movement from some of the dark wizards in the section and it seems to have gone through some repairs and some charms to seal it off from the muggles. I'd say your lab is going there."
"Well, well. I'll have to pay it a visit. is tomorrow soon enough?"
"Don't bother. I have our intel squad checking it out. I'll let you know. So, you need me to prepare a package, don't you?"
"Can you?"
"Oh, definitely. Just don't let the kids muck with it. It'll have a surprise or two of its own," Robert said.
"And there's one more matter to discuss tonight, then."
"Which is?"
"Angus. How to we put him on ice?"
"I'll have Michael have a word with him. I have a couple ideas, but let's let it sit til after supper, shall we? I'll have Michael go over and have a word. In the meantime, it's job well done for all of you. And the boys?"
"I'll talk to you about them after I see how they deal with Suzanne tomorrow night," Marcus said.
"Fair enough. Right now, I'd say you two should enjoy your evening. You've had a long day. Oh, and congratulations on your house. Brian's breaking ground tomorrow on the enlarging of the farm pond. We've got a few decent days weather wise coming, so he'll have that done in the next week. That will clear the way for you to hire a crew to start breaking ground for the foundation and the cellars for you house and its outbuildings in a couple weeks or so."
"Thank you," Marcus said.
"It's a good house. You got a good deal," Robert said. "Should last you a long time."
"I hope so," Marcus said. "Thanks, Robert."
"Go enjoy your evening, you two. You deserve it," Robert said.
