Let's tell a story! Plotting

Hi all,

I'm looking to do some focused plotting, where we have a plotline for the characters at least conceptualized! I'll post some of what I'm interested in for them, but if you have plot ideas that involve other characters (want a character to become a werewolf, want a character to confront a family member, want your character in a rivalry, etc) let me know!


cosmo barbary
sixth year slytherin prefect
Cosmo is a pureblood politician type. He's big on blood supremacy but bigger on operating within the shadows. I'd love for him to have a group of people who fall on the Death Eater spectrum of things that he can sort of encourage from the shadows and protect as a prefect. Maybe a trophy girlfriend as well, a halfblood to help him beat any rumors.

Just a hopeless romantic with no sense of self preservation. She's getting over a long unrequited crush on Cosmo and struggling to find a new friend group when she pre-emptively banished herself from hers. If you need someone to be hopelessly in love with your character (unrequited is more than fine with me!) Dory is your girl.

Ducky was held back so he's definitely familiar with sixth years more than fifth. He's a bit of a mess up with a rough family situation, but he's a friend to everyone! I'd love for someone to rise above his little dengenrate friend group and realize just how messed up his family life is. Would also love folks who end up in trouble because of him, etc.

Jack's plot trajectory is both clear and open in my mind. She's working herself almost literally to the bone in an attempt to become a professional Quidditch player after school. She's trying to make a life for herself in the misguided goal to adopt her little sister. Unfortunately, she has a wee bit of a temper problem and has been in detention pretty consistently. She's a champion of the underdog and tolerates absolutely no blood supremacy speak.

Josie is new to Hogwart but not to London. She's a art and artifact restorer who comes from a family of swedish lawyers. She and her grandfather (a reportedly senile scifi author) are the black sheep who believe life is meant to be enjoyed.

Lily has been struggling. She was set to become a prefect, as a high achieving and well liked student, but her fourth year suddenly her grades and attendance dipped. What people don't realize is that this is because she was turned into a werewolf. Now she grapples with her curse and with a dependency on the pain potions that alleviate the monthly pain of transforming. Would love friends she maybe sort of dropped after the attack, other folks who are concerned for us, etc etc

if you need a laugh, she's your girl. Would love to have a relationship with someone who takes her seriously, or at least tries to get her to take herself seriously. Maybe someone to drive a wedge between her and Molly by pointing out how different they are?

she's a tough cookie to crack and I pre-emptively apologize. You may have noticed she doesn't exactly show her emotions. That's because of TRUAMA that I have yet to explore. In the meantime, she is trying to get by as a decent student during the week and a party girl on the weekends. If you have a character looking for a no-strings romp, she (or Margo) are your gal. She's also the girl to go to if you need illicit substances. I'd also love to get her tangled up in someone else's secrets.

staff hang out yoooooo! He's also a great go-to for any students who have issues. A hopeless romantic that never puts himself first, would love to break his sweet little heart.

Can I call dibs for Teddy Lupin? Not necessarily to break his heart (or who knows?), but Rhiannon is in desperate need for friends or people that can suffer through her awkward attempts at humour, and who may or may not be able to teach her that life is not only about strict professionalism, work and tightly scheduled life.

if she doesn't ryiann wants it also we had talked about cosmo and alex. and then there is the things with lily and alex that we could flesh out more.

I love that! She's probs too young for him to consider romantically (she would have been his student a few years ago), but he does have a habit of adopting strays lmao. She's an Auror right? I can invent a reason for him to go to the Ministry and run into her, or maybe we can think of a reason she's visiting Hogwarts. He'd be happy to be the liaison and they can catch up.

Alex Alex Alex. Perhaps Cosmo could be the little devil on his shoulder telling him to turn that rage on muggleborns, with Lily continuing to be a force for good. TBH she's going to struggle to reconnect with him at least until the kissing incident is addressed and really handled, but she's obviously worried about him.

Alex stuff sounds perfect to me. I need more threads with Riyann the muggle studies prof. so whatever happens there teddy would be bound to know her. and DUcky and Maddie.

I did not really read his application when I posted, but I see now. Yeah, fits fine, too. Not all heartbreaks need to be romantic, can be purely platonic too, if you're aiming for that still. Even if that does not come to pass, it would serve her well to acquire an older brother figure of sorts.

Anyway, meeting up somewhere at the Ministry of Magic sounds fun. At the same time, she could visit Hogwarts and, say, give a tiny lecture about her work and then run into him?

Ah missed the bit about Riyann. What sort of plotting are you looking for for her? They could obviously do work talk but I'm thinking more like what kinda angst we looking to build lol.

Let's do one in Hogwarts first 'cause I have a great idea for a follow up after this set in the Ministry!!! The first one could be a reconnection, and then I have an idea about how Teddy might need her services as an Auror.

Sounds good. Do you want me to write the starter or will you be doing the honors?

Riyann is friendly, tries to be the cool teacher, a lot of her ideals align with Teddys based on the students interactions lately. so they could be firends, there could be banter, one of them could cursh on the other, but you no work conflict.
