"That is one ugly werewolf," Robert laughed. "You know, if he breaks in here and sees that, he's going to be really pissed off."
"Well, then he gets what he deserves. He shouldn't be messing where he doesn't belong, then," Brian said. "Leave it."
"Khaat," Marcus said, "come here. I have an idea." She went over to him and he drew his service revolver, checked the bullets and then stood behind her. "Here, take it. Both hands, just like I taught you. Good girl" He handed the pistol to her. Then he wrapped his hands around hers and lined up the shot to exactly where he wanted it. "Now, nice and easy, squeeze the trigger." She obeyed, and the shot went perfectly right where he figured Khaat would want to shoot him. There was no point in shooting James in the heart since he didn't have a heart. She wanted to shoot him elsewhere. Then, Marcus made sure she had placed a similar shot in all the other pictures as well.
"There. Feel better?" he asked.
"Much. Thank you," she told him.
"My pleasure," he smiled, amused.
When Ruby came back in and guessed that the idea of shaving James had been Jack's, Angus laughed.
"No. Mine, actually, believe it or not. It made me laugh so hard when Jack actually did it, that I couldn't stop laughing enough to apparate home. He had to bring us home because it was one of the funniest things I'd seen in a long time." He sate down with Abbey in the better rocker. "God, that's better," he said. "Let's hope I can change the kitchen chair back." He felt Abbey's forehead as she snuggled back into him again. "I think Robert must have cast another fever spell on her. She's somewhat cooler than she was. "Abs, how about drinking some of this soda for me? It's icy cold. You'll like it." He fed her some sips of the soda, and she seemed to be more willing to drink some fluids when she was starting to feel just a wee bit better. "Good girl." As he sat there with her, he heard a very strange gurgling noise from the drain in the kitchen sink.
"Ru, is there something weird in the sink?" he asked. It wasn't more than about thirty seconds later than the sink drain spat out a package wrapped in brown paper, addressed to Robert.
