"Angus knows her father will probably try to retaliate at some point," Robert replied as Michael and Edward came into the kitchen and sat down with Robert at the table, "but he isn't afraid of him. When that day comes, I'm quite sure Angus will handle it again and probably with a stronger message. If he's pushed too far, Angus will make an end of it, and I do think that will come sooner or later. He hasn't done that yet for Ruby's sake and for Jessie's.
"However," Robert said, now with an amused smile, "you missed a small but important little detail. Angus didn't just turn her parents into pigs. He didn't stop there. He was very specific and went one step more. He made sure both pigs that have a bad case Montezuma's revenge. They and the entire house, I'm sure, will be completely covered with it in short order."
Michael and Edward laughed out loud with peels of laughter at the visual that created for them.
"That's one step beyond that I don't know that I would have thought of," Michael laughed. "I'm proud of the boy. I didn't know he had it in him. Done in fine style, I say. You taught him well, Edward."
"Well, you can be sure that Angus will be ready when Tyler comes. Now--as a slight change of subject. Robert, I think Angus and I would like to go see Benjamin this evening, if that's alright with you."
"We'll be ready," Robert nodded. "It's a full moon tonight, so be sure that you both take your wolfsbane well before sunset. Don't mess that up. We do not need to have to battle two out of control werewolves too."
"And its supposed to be chilly and rainy tonight in Tuscany so you'll probably want rain gear," Edward said. "Otherwise, it could be soggy porting over."
"We've got plenty of rain gear downstairs," Robert said.
"I told Edward that I would gladly go with him tonight to confront his son," Simone said to Robert. "I don't have a raincoat, but I've got my wand. I might be useful for something perhaps.
"We have plenty of raincoats. We'll have your size, I'm sure," Robert said. "Do you know how to use any other weapons besides a wand?"
"I do shoot. Maurice wanted me to be able to defend myself so he had me actually attend auror training. He worried, too, about whether I could defend myself if we were in a muggle area, which we frequently were, so he kept a pistol and an old double barreled shotgun in the house. Then he bought me my own pistol. It's a very nice custom thing he had made for me with rose quartz grips. I've done some target shooting with it, but fortunately, I've never had to use it for self defense. I can hit the target but I can't always promise a bullseye. Obviously, I didn't bring it, though."
"That's alright. Good," Robert said. "That helps. We've got pistols and holsters too. Edward, what are your thoughts?"
"It isn't a task I want you to have to do, my dear," Edward stroked her cheek lovingly.
"I would rather stand with you, if I wouldn't be in the way," she said.
"It might be rather disconcerting," he told her.
"I'm not a shrinking violet, Edward," she said. "I'm a strong woman. I did pass my auror training, but obviously with Maurice's job, I never considered applying for an auror's job."
"You always were strong," he smiled. "And Maurice was always very protective of you. I do remember that."
"He was, and he always encouraged my learning more about self defense," she said. "I'm not afraid of much of anything."
"If you want to come, then that's fine with me, but I can't promise you it will be pleasant in any way at all."
"I understand," she said.
"Jess," Robert looked at her, "do you mind taking Simone downstairs and get her fitted for some mission wear and get her a pistol model that she's familiar with, along with some ammunition and a holster. Probably a waistband holster on whichever side she shoots with. And then maybe Marcus would take her outside to do some target shooting to warm up."
"Mission wear?" Simone asked.
"You're about to enter the world of the aurors for real tonight," Edward said, "and sooner than I thought. We'll explain it all before tonight. Perhaps the best way to explain it is to consider us a squad of private aurors."
"Private aurors?" she asked. "I didn't know there was such a thing."
"Our current ministry does leave a lot to be desired," Robert said, and she nodded, agreeing with him wholeheartedly. "Someone has to do the task that they're not. I know there is a lot more to it than that, but, for the moment, perhaps it's sufficient to say we're on the side of law and order--always."
"You would never be part of anything dark anyway. Let me ask you. Would Maurice approve if he had knows?" she asked him.
"One hundred and ten percent," Robert said, without a doubt.
"Alright. I have no idea what I'm getting into, but whatever it is, I'm in, if you'll have me."
"Edward?" Robert asked.
"She knows her own mind, and I'll support her in whatever she wants," Edward said.
"Then, the more the merrier, I say. Welcome aboard, Simone."
