A new place.

Wow...
Was this how she was treated by her parents now that she was seventeen?  Toss out and told to find her own place now that she was an adult?  She was a mixture of emotions right now, why did they do it in a bloody letter, not to her face before she left for school?  With permission to leave Hogwarts for the weekend,   she decided to go apartment looking.  The dreadful thing she didn't want to face until after she graduated,  but here she was.


They were ever so kind to give her money for it, but the rest was on her own.   Luckily she talked to the pub manager at the three broomsticks to work there while she was wokring to become a healer.   She didn't need her parents,  she was so mad at them that she didn't want to speak to them.  She couldn't believe them,  she thought they would at least give her time or so until after she graduated and had time to do all this crap.  She had enough crap to worry about with head girl duties,  maintaining good grades and studying for her NEWTs, she didn't need this now.

Sighing to herself,  she crossed out apartments that weren't in the best of places, and those that were too much.  She honestly felt like giving up and just staying at the Leaky,  none of these apartments she looked at she likes, maybe she was being to picky. She wondered what Finn would think sbout this, Kace honestly thought it was the stupidest thing he ever heard. Although he offered her to stay with him along with Ty, she couldn't do that not with Eva and Christy with them and together.

Finn was walking home from getting groceries. The list of things he kept in his house wasn’t much since it was usually just himself, but he was starting to run low. He had thought about inviting Sophia to come spend time with him and Aiden the next time he came over, but he wasn’t sure when that was going to be. He also didn’t want to bother Sophia with trivial things when she was most likely busy with school. Finn honestly felt a bit silly debating it all.

As he walked towards his building he caught the familiar figure of a blonde he had only had the chance to spend a time with little and a small smile played on his lips. As he walked closer to her, the smile faded seeing the troubled look on her face. “Soph?” he asked walking up to her. “W..what are you doing here?”

Looking down at the paper she was holding he saw, “Any particular reason you’re looking at flats?” he asked curiously as he moved one of the bags to the arm holding the others so he could get the key out to open the door to the building. He glanced back at her with a small smile, “You want to come in?”

Hearing a familiar voice, she looked up pushing her blonde hair out of her eyes, oh... boy she didn't want to tell him and look sad and pathetic, but she couldn't lie to him. What was she saying, she was horrible liar to everyone. "F...Finn hi, I missed you and Aiden." Shs honestly did, but she been so busy with school and Head Girl duties she haven't had time for much of anything else, she was exhausted from everything.


Seeing him looking at the paper in her hands she bit her lip sighing. "My parents kicked me out, now I'm at age I'm an adult." Running her hands through her hair she sighed to herself. "Sure that'll be nice thank you, do you need any helo wifh your bags?"

Oh boy…Finn knew that sound in her voice. She was upset. He frowned. The idea of her being upset made him mad. He wanted to know who would upset such a beautiful person like her. “We’ve missed you too, but Aiden isn’t here right now.” He told her. He missed Aiden, and he knew his son would be sad that he had missed seeing Sophia. He was constantly asking about her, and when he could see her when Finn saw him. He chuckled to himself, but quickly found himself frowning.

In fact, hearing that her parents kicked her out filled him with rage. What kind of monsters did that to their kids? Here he was trying to get his kid living with him full time and her parents were ready to push her out on her own. He couldn’t comprehend it. “Those pricks.” He said shaking his head, controlling his anger. Had he not been holding his groceries he’d have hugged her.

“Actually, what you can do is take my keys and get the door for me.” He said smiling to her. “I can handle it. The key to the building and the one to my flat are on a keyring to themselves.” He added as he held the door with his foot. “We’re going on to the tenth floor. Get you up there and I’ll put this away and make some tea.” He added smiling reassuringly to her. He had friends who’s parents had done the same to them. He couldn’t fathom why they would.

She knew she couldn't put anything past him, he knew her almost as well as she knew herself. Seeing the anger on his face she bit her lip. Sophia frowned slightly hearing Aiden wasn't there. "Aw... that's ok, I guess next time right?" Giving him a soft warm smile she tilted her head at him. "Where is he if I may ask." She didn't want to sound nosy but she was curious where he was.

Sophia was so upset over it she had cried multiple times, but it was more angry and sad tears. Shs wasn't prepared for this, and here they threw her out like a dog that they didn't want anymore. She felt unloved by them, which was more upsetting to her, but she pushed those thoughts away. "I..It's ok, I knew it was coming but not this soon, at least thought they would have gave me some time." Sighing sadlg her hair and eyes turned purple in sadness.


Nodding she took the keys from him. "Are you sure that's a long walk with all those groceries." Looking at the keys she found the keys to his flat. "Ok... got it, so we're on the fifth floor I think, I lost track. " Rubbing her head from the headache she was getting, she nodded. "That sounds amazing right now, it been a long and tiring day."

Finn looked down at her, “He’s with his mum.” He replied, “Trust me, I don’t like it, but that’s who he’s with most of the time unfortunately.” He hated sending him home to his mother, who rejected the fact that Aiden was a wizard. Finn wanted Aiden to embrace what he was, not be taught to hate it. He hadn’t told anyone he was working on a way to get Aiden with him full time except for Sophia. She knew. She knew what Aiden’s mother was like as well. The one time she had met her Finn had to calm Sophia down before she got too angry.

“It’s not ok.” He said frowning, “Merlin, my mum still tries to get me to come back home. If I needed to, it’s there.” He didn’t like parents like Sophia’s who pushed their kids out too early. He had seen so many situations where that didn’t work out well at all for either the parents or the kids it happened to. He frowned watching her hair change colors.

“It won’t be a long walk taking the elevator.” He added matter of factly. “You’re the one who wanted to take the stairs.” He pushed the button for the elevator when they reached the fifth floor. “Well come on.”

He waited for her to step into the elevator before punching the button to take them the rest of the way. “Besides I don’t mind the walk. I take it most of the time anywhere if I’m coming in from the street.” He smiled down at her. “You know, Aiden is going to be so mad to hear he missed you coming by. He’s been begging me to invite you to dinner.”

Sophia looked at him shocked. "W..What why?" Sophia didn't like Aiden's mother at all, she was for lack of a better word a witch, and not one like she was. Sophia didn't hate many people, but she sure hated Aiden's mother more then anything else in the world. At the mention of that lady made her blood boil and her eyes and hair turn red in anger. "How much longer until he's away from that witch? I can't stand him being around her, I know she's is mother but sure doesn't act lke it." Scoffing as she said that, it was clear that she wanted to get Aiden far away from her as possible.


Sophia looked at him with tears in her eyes and shrugged. "I should have known, but I don't understand why, I didn't do anything wrong I was a good daughter!" Looking at Finn she smiled weakly. "Sounds like your parents are amazing, I wish mine were. " Holding back tears she looked up at him and smiled weakly at him, he was always there to catch her when she falls.

"Oh.... there's a elevator here? They didn't tell me that there was one." Walking into the elevator she sighed to herself biting her lip.

"I been walking around all day looking at apartment after apartments, nothing." Smiling up at him she blushed before chuckling. "Oh... really? well I guess I'll have to take him up on his offer then." As the elevator she walked down the hallway towards his apartment knowing to the key where it was. Taking the key she opened the door and held it opened for him.

“Because she has primary custody of him.” He replied flatly. No one that had the pleasure of meeting the mother of his son was thrilled with her. To her, Aiden was a pawn to use against him and he hated it. He just didn’t want to take him away from his mother forever, but she was pushing it to that point. “I really don’t want to talk about it right now. Just ready to be done with that right now. Let’s focus on you.” He was more worried about her at this point than he was about the fight between his ex-girlfriend.

He stopped and looked at her, “Don’t try to question why.” He said looking her in the eyes, “Some people are just pricks. Don’t waste your tears on them.”

He chuckled, “There is. I take it you were here looking at a flat?” he asked curiously. “You should have told me, I could have made sure I was here for that.” He followed her down the hall to his flat, walking in as she opened the door, putting the bags on the kitchen counter.

He made it to her in two steps and pulled her into his arms. “Yeah, he’s been asking about you like crazy. I think he’s got a little crush.” Finn looked down at her, pulling back enough so that he was able to tilt her chin up with his hand, “It’s going to be alright you know. Worst case you could stay here until you find somewhere. I’ve got the room.”

Sighing she shook her head, shd didn't like the fact that Aiden was with his mother, not after what happened. He was such a adorable little boy, she didn't understand why she was the way she was towards him. She nodded at him and sighed sadly to herself, she didn't want to talk about why she was here, it made her upset and angry. She didn't want to cry, she really didn't but all she been was a good and faithful daughter to them, she did everything to plesse them she didn't understand why she was treated like this.

Looking up at him with her purple eyes she nodded. " Just can't believe my own parents did this to me." Wiping her tears she looked away blushing and biting her lip.

She nodded. "Yeah... I was, but apparently I don't have enough money to get one here." Sighing she ran her hands through her hair. "I didn't want to intrude, besides I thought you were busy with work." She knew that he worked for the ministry and they tended to be busy alot.

Nuzzling against him she looked up at him laughing her tinkling bell laugh. "Aw... that's adorable, I missed you and him like crazy, he's like a son to me." Looking up at him blushing like crazy her hair and eyes turning a watermelon pink. Nodding she shook her head. "I..I couldn't do that, although I think Aiden would love that."

Finn looked at her. Didn’t want to intrude? Did she seriously just say those words to him. He had thought they were a little further than just friends. Friends said things like that. “Busy or not, I would have been here.” He replied to her. “Don’t think that work could stop me from being there for you when you needed me.” He looked at her turning her face back to him as he did. “It’s going to be ok. We will figure this out Soph.”

He just wanted to kiss her and take all of her pain away, but he knew he couldn’t. He knew she felt betrayed by her parents, and while he had never felt that from his parents, he had felt that from someone before and knew the heartache it caused. His one saving grace from that person was his son.

“Why couldn’t you do that?” he asked her smiling sweetly down at her. “We’re more than friends aren’t we? Oh god it would make you uncomfortable to stay here wouldn’t it?”
