Selwyn was caught off guard by Addie's... well, it was an apology, though why she thought she needed to apologise he had no idea because he never had any idea why she assumed she was at fault for half the things she did.
He'd expected her to still have some pent up anger since last time they saw one another. He'd expected a reply somewhere along the lines of how her decisions had nothing to do with him, thank you very much.
"I didn't think you were doing anything else," he said. Nevermind that he had, even if she had been meaning to speak to him, there was no law against that.
He looked down and scuffed his foot through the grass at the edge of the stall, weighing what he was about to say against the trouble he'd cause for saying it.
"You should see someone, Addie," he told her, looking back at her. "I think... I think Kaiden's family might have done more damage than you think."
