New Slytherin, looking for everything!

Hello! This is my first character on Potter's Army and I am currently looking for anything and everything. Basically, if you are living and breathing, I would love to RP with you!

McKinley is a third year Slytherin who is quite kind and friendly, but she can be a bit two-faced sometimes. She will be friendly to people whom she otherwise would not associate with simply because she wants to put up a good front, almost in a political sort of way. She is extremely determined, and she can be a bit manipulative if she needs to be. However, with that type of determination by your side, you know that there is always someone there to fight for you if you are friends with her.

McKinley is a bit of an over-achiever, so is always busy with something, whether it be homework, Quidditch, or other extracurricular activities such as dueling. It's important to her to be involved in as much as possible, because it is her ultimate dream to one day become The Minister of Magic. Good luck getting her to admit that to you, however.

In her spare time, McKinley likes to run. She likes how it makes her head feel clearer, but the more toned calf muscles are definitely not a bad side effect. Also, she LOVES cats. Whenever she sees a cat, she will always try to pet/play/snuggle with it. She does have her own cat as well - a ginger tabby whom she named 'The Minister', because she thought it would be entertaining to say things like "The Minister just peed on my rug."

I see McKinley having a good deal of friends, a handful of frenemies, and maybe even some straight-up enemies. She is also just getting to the age where she may have a few crushes or even some young, innocent dating. So, that being said, whether you have a character that you feel will love McKinley, or if they will straight up want to punch her, I am totally down. Please let me know if anything sounds good, and we can try to come up with something!

So, I have a toooooon of characters, but I think the two that might be best suited for McKinley aaaaare:

Goose Dyllan, 1st year. Goose is exceedingly clever, a whiz with plants (magical and otherwise) and also pretty good with animals. His best friend is Charlie Jericho, a Gryffindor who happens to be the Herbology professor's son. Goose, I'm sure, doesn't go out of his way to hurt anyone. He's adopted by a muggleborn even though he's a pureblood, and has a magical blood disease that makes his magic incredibly volatile and weak, so he's probably teased/bullied about "being a squib". Next closest in age I have Casey Weasley, daughter of Charlie. She went to Ilvermorny last year and when things went wrong ended up becoming a bit of a survivalist. She's incredibly withdrawn and reclusive, and can be easily incited into violence. She's also the Gryffindor seeker, so I imagine they might be best suited for a rivalry. I also have another character coming in the future that will be a fourth year either Slytherin or Ravenclaw that I think would get along really well with McKinley.

I think I linked you to my character list in your welcome thread if you wanted to look through any of my other characters, but they are all 6th and 7th years so I'm not sure how much overlap there would be.

Heya! My only students are Nicole, Christian and Apollo.

Nicole is a second year Hufflepuff with a bit of a rebellious streak. Christian and Apollo are twins, one Hufflepuff and the other Slytherin. They're sixth years. Christian is really lovely, and Apollo is really angsty XD It's a mess.

And then I have Keiran, who's the Headmaster and who teaches Transfiguration. He seems to know just about everyone, so if you want her introduced to a graduate for any reason, he might be your guy. And if you ever want her in trouble for something, that can happen too.

I have a few characters McKinley would probably know.

Selwyn Thorfinn is the Deputy Headmaster. Last year he was Slytherin's Head of House, and he kinda still fills in that position. He's also the COMC professor.

Destrey Ashcroft is the Defence Professor. I also play Angelique Pyrites who's the sadistic school healer.

My student characters are

Clytemnestra Lux - sixth year Slythie - condescending bitch. Particularly likes putting down Apollo Zabini

Clair Sauvage - fifth year Ravvie - he's supposed to be a bully, a rebel without a cause type. But like, he's a new character so he's kinda not developing to be as horrible as I'd envisioned. *shrug*

Christian Thorfinn - first year Slythie - Selwyn's brother. He's a nice person.

Darcy Driscoll - first year Ravvie - she's a concept character. I just wanted a character who thinks in tropes.

I also have Bethany Dursley, who's a fourth year Ravenclaw, but I've hardly ever used her. She's closest to McKinley's age, though.

I have one student but that thread wouldn't work, trust me

I could see McKinley being really conflicted about associating herself with Goose. She would find him interesting enough and would probably be fairly nice to him, but at the same time, she wouldn't want to be associated with the "failure" kid. If she gets over her internal dilemma, however, I could see her being super protective of him. She would likely try to "fix" his magic, or at least help him with a few spells. Since Goose likes books, does he ever go to the library to read? McKinley is there quite often, and if he was reading a book that she took some interest in, I don't think she would be able to refrain from talking about it. Idk, whatever works is fine, if you have a better idea!

Yes, I could definitely see Casey and McKinley being rivals! Not only are they both into Quidditch, but dueling as well. I am totally down to have them meet, but I am really not sure if McKinley would ever find herself in detention. I might be able to think on it a bit and discover an incredibly elaborate situation though lol. You mentioned Casey likes to run I think in your app? Does she ever just go on runs around the grounds? They could also be dueling each other, I suppose? Let me know!

As for the new one, I would definitely be down! Just let me know as soon as they are accepted.

I think McKinley would definitely think Nicole is nice, but she would totally scold her if she ever saw her doing anything rebellious. Would there be a chance McKinley would catch her breaking any rules? As for the Zabinis, she would definitely try to befriend them because of their pureblooded family name.

However awful Clytemnestra is, I think McKinley would make an effort to try to impress her and be fairly kind to her. If she said enough awful things to her, however, she would probably end up snapping at some point and retaliating.

McKinley would certainly find Clair to be interesting, if nothing else. She always likes herself a good bully, as they tend to actually say what she is silently thinking. We may be able to plot something for them?'

I could see McKinley getting along fairly well with Christian. She doesn't mind younger students, because she feels she can boss them around, while at the same time being somewhat maternal towards them. I imagine that they would at least speak to each other once in a while, being in the same house and only a couple of years apart.

Nice to meet you! McKinley would totally try to suck up to Maddie. While I don't think she is the worst at Herbology by any means, it is definitely not her best subject. I think her problem is that she is almost be a bit scared of the plants. I could see her getting an EE in one of the tests and be absolutely panicking, wondering if there was any sort of extra credit she could do to bring it up to an O. A mediocre grade like that, even just on a test, is not something she would take lightly. She could maybe approach Maddie one day after class about it, if you think that would work? Or if you have another idea, that would work, too.

Oh, McKinley would absolutely love to boss Charlie around, if he would let her. She's not one to gone on adventures, but we may be able to think of something?

I'm sure that McKinley would love to get her nose in anything Ministry-related, considering her ambitions of becoming The Minister of Magic one day. I will have to review that though, because I honestly didn't know that students could do anything at the Ministry? Whoops lol. *fails*.

And yes, definitely feel free to hit me up when the new Slyth is accepted! I'm always up for more conflict.

I love that dynamic with Goose. ALSO, if it helps, Goose and Charlie are rarely seen out of each other's company. So she probably knows them as a pair. But Goose definitely needs Slytherins he can interact with in the common room.

He's totally a reader.

That works! Maddie 100% makes herself available to help any students who are struggling or have concerns, so we can have McKinley stay behind after class or pop by the greenhouses/staff lounge during lunch or in the evening or something. Maddie's always good for encouragement and reassurance.

And yessss please, I'm totally up for Charlie being bossed around! Though as Jackles said- he and Goose are almost always together, and I imagine Goose wouldn't be happy if he found out McKinley had been pushing his friend around. But he probably wouldn't find out from Charlie, so you can totally have her pressure him into doing things for her if you'd like. What did you have in mind?

Students can take up apprenticeships at the Ministry but that's only available for older years, I think. I'm not sure. My bad But if you'd like her to encounter grads out of term time, that's also a possibility.
