FLORENCE & ORLA Hello everyone! I have students again!
I'm almost sure I can still write them but we'll see how it goes, shall we? Florence, top, and Orla are my new babies - albeit they're sixth years so they're almost-nearly not babies anymore. They're in Slytherin and Hufflepuff respectively and need all-sorts of plotting! They're clean slates with nothing but their own personal dramas weighing them down so they can be plugged in to whatever anyone's after, really!
FLORENCE GIBBON
Enormous fan of biscuits.
Florence is the half-orphaned daughter of the Gibbons, whose crimes during the wizarding wars landed them in Azkaban and broke up their family. She and her brother were split up as children and raised separately, with the Ministry intending to have them raised in a way that would prevent them from going all dark and Death Eater-y like their parents.
Florrie's upbringing was not stable or consistent. She was often moving from house to house. It's sewed quite a lot of bitterness in her and she doesn't trust authoritarian types. Anyone who even gives off a whiff of the Ministry is not trustworthy in her eyes. She's not an enormous fan of adults, period, actually, because of how they've let her down.
As a result of this, I expect the majority of her relationships will be with people her own age unless anyone wants an incredibly hostile Slytherin shouting at their grad character. Haha. She's big on friendships. She treasures them because they're something she's in control of creating and nurturing, they're, as a result, stable, and they're also her connection to the wizarding world and wizarding culture which she has always felt incredibly cut off from.
Anyone who can teach her about pureblood culture, in particular, is someone who would be of interest to her. She feels as though she's behind and she's desperate to catch up. I imagine this will eventually be a role a Death Eater could fulfil and as they'd be the exception to her belief about adults, someone who is actually helping her, it would make her very manipulable. That's a thing, if anyone fancies.
So yeah! Anything for Florrie. Friendships are probably the biggest one. Enemies, too, can work because enemies are consistent too so she probably likes having that conflict with another person, in a weird way. Florrie you're weird. But she's also very arty! If anyone's characters like art or music or something like that. Florrie's there. She's also
really into DADA so that, too, if a charrie needs a hand. Hit her up!
ORLA HUGHES
Adores rainbows.
Orla is a twin! She's from quite a big family, with two other siblings besides her twin sister, and is one of my few characters who has a remarkably alright home-life. She gets on well with her parents. She loves her siblings, even if she does feel she's probably not as good as them at Hogwarts-related things. I like a character occasionally who is actually more or less alright. Haha.
She loves plants, LOVES plants. Herbology is her absolute jam. She's awful at Potions, though, so expect some exploding cauldrons, guys.
She's quite self-conscious and shy, my Orla. She's not going to be the one to start a conversation and really does try to keep her head down. She's quite sporty. She's a runner and loves to fly. She'd secretly quite like to get into Quidditch but has no idea where to start and feels she's probably left it a bit late now.
She's a very giving, loving witch. She will always make time for people no matter who they are and detests conflict. If people aren't very nice to her, she's liable to run away rather than square up for an argument. She doesn't take perceived slights well, either, and her default choice between angry and upset is always the latter if she's affected negatively by things that are said or done.
She's definitely going to be a light witch when she grows up. She wants to do the right thing so she'll probably feel compelled to join Potter's Army and then the Order as time goes on, once she's gotten more assertive and sure of herself. Give her a bit of time with that one, though.
So, friends for her, again! Enemies if you want her to cry, I guess. Haha. Then, probably, any adventures that anyone wants to go on -- Orla's your girl! Invite her along.
I hope these two are okay! They've still got the shiny wrapping on them so I need to get to know them a bit better. I figure some threads will help and I hope they fit somewhere into what everyone's got going on.
