Boy, over here

Where the hell was Andrew freaking Diamond?  If they were going to pull this off and get that horrible (well, Clytemnestra had been assured she was horrible) girl off his case, they had to at least look like a couple.  That meant doing things like taking the train together.  

Suddenly, Clytemnestra understood how Andrew had never had a girlfriend before now.  He had no idea how it was done.

There were hundreds of brunet heads on the platform and Clytemnestra was not about to risk missing the train just for this sorry attempt at a deal.  If he didn't show up on the train, he could deal with his problems without the benefit of her wisdom.  

She floated her luggage onto the train and into the first compartment she saw. Ah, the benefits of having no friends.  Bliss.

Liesl was supposed to be patrolling the train, but of course she had other plans in mind. She usually had other plans when she was undertaking her prefect duties. Besides, she was barely even a prefect at all anymore. Once this trip was over, she'd be a free woman.

Walking by a quiet compartment, she spied Clytemnestra Lux languishing within. Hmmm. Clytemnestra was barely suitable for what Liesl had in mind. For one thing, her father was paramount to a muggle, and for another she'd never exactly been quiet about her opinions on the Dark Followers. But she was sensible and Liesl thought she could talk her around.

"Clytemnestra," she greeted the girl cordially as she slid the compartment door open, only to be thrown against the door jamb as the train lurched.

Liesl had no time to worry about her graceful entry being ruined. She was already hurrying into the compartment, closing the door behind her and drawing her wand.

Clytemnestra had automatically become tense when Liesl entered the compartment. They didn't run in the same circles and now the older girl clearly wanted a word. Nothing good could come of that. Clytemnestra almost wished Andrew actually was here. Not that he could defend her against Liesl, but still.

Before anything else could happen, they were both jerked forward. Well, Clytemnestra was, barely staying in her seat. Liesl was less fortunate, taking a hit to the shoulder with the doorframe. That would probably leave a bruise.

It didn't matter. They had both been in similar situations before and while Clytemnestra heard Liesl closing the door behind her, she moved to the window, to pull down the blind. When she turned, she was glad to see Liesl had her wand out as well.

"So?" she whispered.
