When Kasey had approached her that morning about looking through the places where the lights were going off weirdly, Scarlett had immediately agreed to go with her. The castle was behaving so strangely that she couldn't resist. If it wasn't her doing, and wasn't the doing of Kasey or Leo, she couldn't figure out who could have done it. It wasn't as if they were the only creative souls in the school or anything, but they were pretty renowned for it, after six years.
She had decided that, realistically, she needed to at least look at the topic she needed to write an essay on, but that meant that she lost track of time throughout the evening. Glancing up, Scarlett gasped and flew from her chair, hoping that Kasey wouldn't be too impatient. The brunette's curiosity had been piqued and she didn't want to miss the chance to adventure with her best friend.
Hurrying downstairs, she nearly tripped as she tried to slip on her flats. "Kasey!" She called out when she made it into the common room, spotting her friend still sitting there. "So sorry. I was reading for that blasted History essay. Have you started it? We should plan a day to work on that, because you know I never will, otherwise."
Taking a deep breath, Scarlett shifted her weight from one foot to the other. She really needed to talk slower, sometimes. "You ready to go?"
