Reading in the libary

"DID YOU TWO MAKE ALL THIS MESS!?!?!!" The headmaster exploded. He'd never seen students daring to cause this much distruction. The whole library was destroyed, the ceiling, the shelves. oh this would cost him a fortune! "EXPLAIN YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!" he screamed. He saw badges on their robes, which meant they were prefects, or head boy/girl. This just made him angrier.

Darren pocketed his wand, this was it, he'd lost his headboy badge, all because of Sue. Why hadn't he controlled himself? Well it was her fault, he'd just tell that to the headmaster. Though he doubted he would listen. Glancing sideways at Sue, she seemed to want Darren to talk first. Fine with him. "Yes we did," he said, quite boldly. At least the headmaster was giving them a chance to explain, he wouldn't usually do that. "Well sir, Sue here tried to attack me, and then she attacked the rest of the students as well," he explained, lying of course. He gave a stern glare at the students lined up against the wall and they nodded in agreement - scared of him. "So I tried to stop her, but she didn't so I had to resort to using magic to stop her. If I went to call a teacher who knows what she would of done to the other students." he finished, in a convincing voice. He wasn't a great liar, but he could talk himself out of trouble easily.

"What the hell?" Sue shouted jumping from the table to the safe ground. Realizing she had sweared loudly she tried to look ashamed. "No, that is a lie. I didn't attack him first, he did. And he sent books flying at me and in order to deflect them the students got hurt. That wasn't really my intention sir. And he started the duel, he never even tried to stop it." Sue said frowning. She had managed to lie quite well.

They were both lying of course, but Darren's word had to be more convincing? He was head boy! He was the best student at Hogwarts. Sue meanwhile was a bored freakish psychopath who was a known Death eater. He didn't say anything after she explained, just stood there and waited for the headmaster to reply.

The headmaster watched both of them carefully as they explained. They were both quite convincing, but he favored Darren. That was something Darren would do, save others. But he would also lie if it was for his own good. Meanwhile, attacking younger students was something a Malfoy would do. Still, he couldn't decide who was lying and who wasn't. "Fine.. Both of you get a weeks worth of detention, and you must also pay for all this," the headmaster said, calming down slightly. "Your lucky the hourglasses have been reset, or you would have lost a trillion points for slytherin." The headmaster bit his lip, this didn't seem to be a suitable punishment for all this! "And I shall be taking both your badges as well.."

(Danny had walked into the library with a book under clamped between his arm and side. He started to rub his eyes when he saw the headmaster.) Not this guy again he thought to himself. (He walked over to a table, saw a bunch of books on it but just brushed it onto the floor so there was more space for him to read.)

Darren nodded, a weeks worth of detention, fine. He didn't care, he already had nothing to do this week. Quidditch practice was off and all. Pay for all this? That would be expensive, but his dad had left a heap of galleons which Darren had no idea what to do with. Smiling slightly, he was glad the headmaster couldn't take points off, as that would be the thing he would most hate, losing his honor. Sighing with relief, the punishment wasn't really that bad. He froze when the headmaster added he would be taken their badges away. His headboy badge? No! He wasn't going to lose that. "But sir, it was Sue's fault, she started it. Shes the head of Death eaters for the love of god!" Darren burst out to awed gasps from the students all around.

"Not to mention your one yourself," Danny added makng all the kids look at Darren for a second. (It was the truth and everyone deserved to know. Besides he was trying to read and that conversation was loud.)

Darren scowled at Danny, moron! He would make Darren lose his badge! All his power and bullying of other students would end then! He wouldn't lose his head boy status, he would rather be expelled. "Shut up," he muttered to Danny in an undertone. "How many times do I have to tell you I'm not one anymore!"

"You're not one of them anymore?" he asked curousily. "I thought that you were a DE untl I was sent to Britain." (He wasn't trying to make Darren lose his badge, but it could be for better.)
