Time will only tell

Vaughn walked down towards the Slytherin Dungeons his arm still wrapped up. The healer thought it would be best to leave it on for a few more days. It was the weekend that he got out and he had a lot of homework to catch up on but he needed to talk to Dakota. Before he could go down to the dungeons a bunch of his Gryffindor buddies grabbed him. They started talking all at once saying that he was gonna get jumped by the Slytherin's or he'd get tortured by them. Shaking his head at them and their warnings about how Slytherin's make anyone not one of them disappear.

"Guys nothing is going to happen. I'm going to talk to Dakota and be back up here soon ok? Stop saying that something gonna happen to me. Don't you know that bad luck?" He said and their faces went pale. He laughed at how they were acting and walked down towards the dungeons once more. He rubbed a hand down his face, he was tired and he wanted nothing more than to sleep. He couldn't though not until he finished his homework, so here he was going to talk with Dakota.

Dakota was walking up from the lake and saw vaughn and his friends. She chuckled at his friends words "i wouldnt be so sure about that vaughny. My ciusin does want your head on her night stand" she was a bit more vicious than usual and spiteful as hell. She glsred at him and bit her lip "what the hell are you doing down here?" she asked him. She wasnt wanting to be mean to him. She loved him more than anything. But she couldnt just let his cheating on her slide by "slytherin doesnt like boyfriends that cheat on their girls"

"Well obviously your cousin doesn't realize that no matter how many times I tried contacting you during the summer. Of course all of them went unanswered and then you miss some of the beginning of school. So your really the one who basically blew me off and made it seem you were done with me." Vaughn said his voice cold and lifeless. "It's not like you care right? Just another heartless Slytherin, playing games with a Gryffindor because she felt like it." He began walking back towards the stairs that would lead him to the Gryffindor Tower before turning to look at her.

"I never cheated on you because I thought the relationship was over between us. My father was sick during the summer and still is. I don't even know if he's going to get better. So what do I know about heartless Slytherin girls who like playing with hearts because they find it fun." He turned on his heel and began walking away not even bothering to look back.

Dakota stared at him "are you kidding me!?" she shouted after him "i never got any letters vaughn. I never heard from you after you ditched me at the carnival. I thiught you wanted nothing to do with me!" she said breaking down into tears "i love you. More than anything. I wrote you every day trying to get in touch with you. I never got a reply. You were the one that betrayed me. Left me high and dry. You left me!" she shouted walking up to him and pushing him as hard as she could which did not do much damage. "As for me being a heartless snake. You know thats not true. You know that better than anyone!"

Vaughn was done with everything, he just wanted to leave and get his work done. When heard her screaming at him he ignored her until she pushed him which was nothing. "I can't tell anymore what the real you is you. When your around me your sweet and kind, but the second someone else is around your cold. You act just like a Slytherin, that's what makes me think that nothing has changed. I don't make you a better person Dakota. You just want me to believe that because after what I just saw and what I saw at the Festival. Your a Slytherin deep down and no amount of anything will change that. I'm a Gryffindor and I protect everyone, which is the reason I saved you from that wolf."

He ran his hand through his hair sighing deeply. "I loved you yes. You broke my heart Dakota when you showed your true self at the Festival. I can't be with someone who is cold and heartless around other people then warm and fuzzy just around me. I need someone who won't change when the scenery does. Good bye Dakota." He said walking away from her shaking his head. There was a crowd of people that were around them when they were 'talking' but he ignored them all.

Dakota looked at him "you know who i am. You know who i am even better than myself. Im afraid to show how ibreally am around other people. Im afraid to look weak" dakota said crying her eyes out. "You know who i am." she slooked after him and sighed "vaughn i want you to be happy. You mean everything to me." she walked over to him and looked up at him desperation and sadness in her eyes "i love you. I always will." she shook her head and sighed "im gonna miss you the most out of everyone here. Besides my family youre ths only one im gona miss"
