Hey, folks! We promised you news about our summer plans, and it's time to get that started! I'm sure you've seen the banner by now, so I'll get straight to it. We've got two big events rolled into one and we just hope that you will be as excited about it as we think you might.
A new section of the forum has been set up with areas specific to the Quidditch World Cup. It'll be up to you guys who "makes it" to the final match (which we'll post a poll about later
), but you'll have free reign about which game your character goes to or which team they root for. One-on-one threads are just as encouraged as group threads, though we would really like to see everyone participate in our biggest events: The final game, the ball that marks the end of the tournament, and - of course! - our magic competition.
The competition will be a sort of game, based in creativity and sheer willingness to be a bit silly. Have you ever wished that there was a spell for ____ ? Well now's the time to make it up. Come up with a name for it, and have one of your characters present it. If they're a student who is lacking in the experience it might take to actually create the spell, feel free to say they've worked with a graduate. It can be an NPC, or another member's character. Preferably the latter, of course, for plotting! It would be best to avoid the Admins' characters, though, since that wouldn't be quite fair.
Depending on the number of entries (as anyone who feels like it can enter), we may create additional awards for creativity, silliness, things like that. You just never know!
Don't expect to get out of this ordeal without any drama or conflict, though. We wouldn't let it go that easily, would we? Definitely keep an eye out for that, and if you want in on it, we'll have chances for folks to help push the chaos along.
