That didn't sound affectionate at all. Although, Jack had once tried to smash his head into a wall and only failed because of the height difference, so Selwyn decided the implication of trust in her offer of a coffee (not date, never date) was a sign of progress.
"We're questioning her," he replied. "I'd prefer legilimency but I'll pick up some veritaserum just in case."
"After that, we should just hand her over to the Aurors like the model citizens we are. We don't have the resources to hold her ourselves."
Thank Merlin. The moment Oliver had spoken, Selwyn had been about to offer up his own house to hold Swan. Sure, the Order didn't have resources, but Selwyn Thorfinn had plenty of resources. Never mind that he was also intimately linked to his ancestors' land and land wasn't the greatest judge of character. It was entirely possible that as soon as Audriana set foot in the Glen, it would snap a magical contract around both of them like a shackle.
It seemed he'd annoyed more than just Jack with his line of questioning, and Selwyn wondered why Oliver wasn't more irritated that the woman had gone behind his back. Not only that, had openly declared that she didn't trust what the Order stood for. Was the Order just smoke and mirrors now for whatever Jack's club, as she called it, did? That would certainly explain a lot.
"Relax, Ollie," he said. "The Ministry doesn't sleep these days, and it'll only take a moment to get there anyway."
Still, those were his marching orders, so the young man stood and turned to collect hat and coat, before realising that he'd dressed for a different mission. Oh well, at least he could rest assured that Krum would probably want to stab his eyeballs out after seeing him.
