What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Some people have pointed out things like "When Voldy was running around the first time, why didn't someone chuck a grown mandrake at him?" Or "Did Fred and George see that Ron was sleeping with someone named Peter every night on the Maruader's Map and decided to never bring it up?"

I love those little "duh's".

A lot of the worldbuilding is fudged, that's all I can say.  May as well ask why no muggleborn shot Voldie in the first war.  

But I consider this one legit, because the part about the Death Eaters shooting to kill doesn't disrupt JKR's established canon.  I really don't think she's any good at thinking like a villain.  She obviously decided to have them use the killing curse because Death Eaters obviously would.  

Having played DEs on this site, though, if it was more a case of them disobeying Voldie and doing it for funsies, that would make sense.

Definitely. A lot of villain action comes out of convernience. In my screenwriting classes, that's what most of the writers struggle with. They either can make great conflict, but it's unmotivated. OR they motivate everything, and no conflict really comes to a head.

I know the point is to nitpick things, because that's what CinemaSins does. And some points they make are valid. But I'm sitting here like, "OMG READ THE BOOKS." *flails*

I don't think Avengers is a very good example. They're literally remaking the origin stories of the characters, and then putting the characters together. It isn't very hard to follow along. And, often times, the adaptations change so much that it makes the fans of the books furious. Like with Percy Jackson.

And Harry Potter is going through the origin story, essentially, as well. The rules are all laid out there, so people who complain about not understanding it either haven't watched with enough attention, or need to just go read the books.
