"Ugh." Celine groaned as she dragged her body away from the table where all her supplies and parchment were tossed about. In her desperate attempt to get some work done, she had forced herself out of bed at a reasonable time today (around noon, but that was early for her) and came straight to the library. Celine chose her table carefully, hoping it would motivate her to actually do some work. Unfortunately, she was left with three scribbled on rolls of parchment, a broken quill, an untouched stack of books and three words into an essay that was due in the near future. How on earth had she managed to convince herself that waiting until the last minute was not a concern?
Instead of working she decided to draw along the edges of her paper. Maybe she didn't have an essay, but she absolutely made a lovely garden scene that would make muggle artists jealous. Hm, maybe she should pursue that instead. There was the minor fact that she couldn't draw a straight line, but no one was perfect. Anyways. After receiving several complaints for her loud humming and exaggerated sighing, she decided it might be a good idea to get herself out of the chair for a bit. Her mind worked better when she was moving anyways. Also, she wasn't keen on having another balled up wad of paper thrown at her head. Hadn't anyone heard of paper cuts!?
The bun atop her head bounced as she aimlessly wandered through the rows of book. Celine really couldn't understand the appeal. People often told her how they found books comforting, like an escape. They were just words written neatly on a page, how could they offer anything other than headaches? She pursued her hot pink painted lips and sighed again. She was already getting dirty looks for being loud, what was the harm of one more noise? Her hand dragged from shelf to shelf, staring blankly at the books, all of them seemed to blend together. She wasn't really looking for anything in particular, she was just hoping for an excuse to not do work. Not like she needed one at this point.
As she started her walk down the opposite end of the row, she let her mind wander to other important things. Like her kitten, for example. Celine hadn't been paying attention, but when she looked up she quickly jumped to the side to narrowly dodge a person that she nearly almost headbutted. Although she managed to avoid the person, she toppled into a shelf causing a few books to fall off the shelf and onto her. "Oh hell," she winced rubbing her poor head. Brilliant. What a great addition to the day. Not bothering to apologize to the person, she turned her attention to the scattered books on the ground. Hopefully the librarian didn't see, or else she'd never see the inside of the library again. 'Really, was that a bad thing though?' she thought to herself.
She bent down to pick up the misplaced books when a gold shine caught her eye. The lettering on the front of a green book looked.. different. Almost out of place. Celine picked up the flimsy book, if one could even call it that, it looked more like a manual. Something like an instruction guide. Her multicolored nails flipped to a random page. "Merlin," she gasped as she read three underlined words: Godric's Hidden Treasure. It was a list! No, not just a list, hints, clues! Celine could feel a rush of excitement and she began to bounce on her heels. This was it! This was her excuse!
But she couldn't keep this to herself! No way! This had to be shared, with someone, anyone! What was the point of a treasure hunt if you didn't have someone along to help you out and share the glory with! Celine pivoted toward the person she nearly mowed over, "Hey!" She squeaked, a little too loudly, earning her some shushes from people down the way, "Hey!" She tried again, this time a little quieter. "Look at this, c'mere!" Celine shoved the pamphlet toward the person. This was much too amazing.
