Taking a walk

Vaughn was wearing jeans with his favorite light blue shirt, his thick winter jacket was over top of it. He went down to the lake to get some fresh air. He was feeling a little stifled being in the common room and he needed a break from homework for a little bit. He slid down the slight slope that lead to the Great Lake, then sighed in relief when he finally reached it. Finding a patch of dry earth, he sat down with his knees drawn up and his arms loosely around them. He watched as the water lapped at the sides of the shore as the wind blew softly across the lake.  

Vaughn for the first time in a while felt every muscle in his body relax as he then laid back on the snow behind him. His hood protected his head from getting in the snow so he wouldn't catch a cold as he laid there on the shore. His legs were still bent but he kept hearing branches breaking, sitting up on his elbows he looked around. He realized it was just some animals probably on the other side who were walking around the forbidden forest. The area around the lake he found was a good amplifier of sound, sending it across the lake making it sound like it was right next to you. Smiling he laid back down and closed his eyes listening to the sounds of the lake as well as nature around him.

Jessica had decided to go outside to get some fresh air. All reading inside made her head already spin. Also she wanted to get away from all these noisy people around here. She didn't really fit in most of times since she never knew about what her housemates talked. She just didn't pay much attention to that. Sometimes she wishes she should do it.

Anyways she had came to outside then. Shw was wearing skinny jeans, winter boots, t-shirt on that sweater and then coat. Around her neck was scarw but she didn't wear hat or then kittens, she didn't like the two last onea much. She walked around the ground until she was near the lake. She saw there one boy, who she didn't know actually. She stoppes few metera away from him. She didn't wanna disturb him unless he speaks first. Jess waa ready to leave her alone but still at the end decided to stay.

"Hello," she said there now and did look at the lake there now too. Her eyes were open.

Vaughn could hear crunching of snow as he laid there and knew someone was coming towards the great lake. Waiting until they said something to him because sometimes the students just wanted to walk around the lake. Hearing a girl say hello he opened his eyes and looked towards her. He recognized her belonging to Ravenclaw and wondered what she was like.

"Hello," Vaughn said back as he sat up putting his arms around his knees once more. "Do you want to sit down? There's plenty of dry ground over here if you don't feel like standing." He wondered if she was as smart and witty as most of the students who belonged to Ravenclaw. He then lowed his legs to where he was now sitting indian style on the ground. "What's your name?" He asked politely to her as he waited for her to decide if she was gonna sit or stand.

Jessica looked at boy when he decided to speak there now after her hello. He seemed nice for sure but you never know. She smiled. She saw dry spots there now. She examines the boy first. He didn't seem to he dangerous one for sure.

"Okay I'll sit," she said basically to herself and walked over that dry spot and did sat down there. Girl soon did hug her legs and looked at the lake. "I'm Jessica Wendorf, people call me Jess or Jessie or Jessy, you can use what ever you like," she said there now finally. "What's your name?" She asked back and looked at boy.

Vaughn tried to not smile when she eyed him, he thought she might be seeing if he was dangerous or not. When she sat down he looked over at her his blue eyes catching the light making them seem a lighter blue than what they were. He brought up one knee to sling his arms around while the other stayed bent behind the raised one. He stared at the lake as it still lapped at the shore.

"It's nice to meet you Jessica, I'll just call you Jess if that's alright with you." Vaughn said as he turned his attention back to the girl sitting next to him. "My name is Vaughn Hunter, I don't have a nickname." He grinned her at her to show that he was friendly. "Your in Ravenclaw aren't you?" He asked as he shifted slightly so he could look at her properly.

Jessica looked soon again back at the lake and listened what boy said there now. He didn't seem dangerous at all, totally opposite to it. She soon looked back at boy. She smiled a bit.

"Sure you can call me, Jess," she said there now. It was most common one snyways. "It's nice to meet you too, Vaughn," she said back with a smile. "Yes I'm Ravenclaw," she said. "You aren't Ravenclaw. I'm you aren't Slytherin either. You aren't really Hufflepuff type of boy. So you are Gryffindor right?" She discussed there loudly now. She hoped she was right now. She didn't like to be wrong.

Vaughn smiled at her words and nodded slightly, "Yes I'm in Gryffindor. Which seems ironic because it seems like I'm in more fights than anything this year." He said laughing slightly. What he said wasn't a lie either, he had been in seven fights four of which he didn't start. The other three he did but it was with a good intention at heart, he couldn't stand bullies. Each fight he had been in the past few months have been because someone was bullying a kid who didn't know how to fight back. Vaughn wasn't one to hit another with a spell in the back so he physically hit them because of how cruel they were being.

Vaughn never expected a thanks from the kids he saved from the bullies and he didn't think they wanted to approach him either. When he was mad he wasn't exactly the friendly sort of person. Today however he left the castle in because he needed air otherwise he would have started a fight because he was looking for one. So he sat there wondering what to say to the girl next to him. Not because he was shy but because he just wanted a friend but he never caught onto how to talk to someone without flirting with them. "Why aren't you in the Castle?" He asked curiously wondering if she would take that the wrong way. "I'm not saying it like that's where you should be but i'm genuinely curious." Saying the last words so she wouldn't get the wrong idea about him.

Jessica nodded as she understood him. To be honest she didn't like bullies too but she didn't stan up unless they said something to her. Most of them have realized it's not good idea not to mess with her. She doesn't use hands but words. She can be very curel too. That side comes out barely. She wasn't sure how many fights Vaughn had been and why excatly. It wasn't her business really.

"Fights. Not my thing for sure. I never use hands bt I use words back," she had to say there now. When she asked why she wasn't in castle she looked ahead which was towards lake. "Let's say fresh air and wanted to get away from my common room. Just that all chatting and whispering from different corners gave me headache," she said there now somethinv back. "What about you?" She asked back now.

"Well I try to avoid it but sometimes the boys in the years ahead like to pick fights. They know which buttons to push as well, like bullying someone or bad mouthing me about my family or my name." Vaughn said smiling wryly knowing that everything now a days was starting to tick him off. Which is why more times than not he was off on the grounds avoiding them at all possible angles. "It's gonna be hard to avoid them when spring comes around the corner. I'll have to get creative of where I hide. Well using words on these guys doesn't work so I end up having to use my hands or wand."

"I needed air and needed to avoid getting into another fight. I've been on edge since my last fight because of what the other boy said and I knew that if I stayed in there it wouldn't have ended well." Vaughn said softly as he sat there next to her wondering if she would leave now. He wasn't dangerous to her or anyone else but he was to those who picked on the weak and helpless.

Jessica listned what he said there now. That seemed reasonable for her. "Oh, I see. Probably I should have done same. If they really get on my nerves long time and words doesn't help then I can hit too. I'm not so weak as people think I am. And boys usually just go away since they can't hit a girl. They are just idiots and just think they are better but they arw actually worse," she said there now and sighed. She didn't wanna think about bullies at all. She really hated those people. She can defend herself when needed.

"Yeah. Makes sense. I'm not sure where you can hide then," she said honestly. She wouldn't walk away just because of those words. You can't make her be afraid of you so easily. "They are people who need to get lesson one dat. That they are messing with wrong person or so," she had to say there now. Not sure if it was good thing to say at all.
