Anya was dressed in a long forest green dress with black flats with a matching shawl around her shoulders. She stepped out of her house looking around and smiled feeling the first time in five years free to go where she pleased. She didn't have to worry about looking over her shoulder to see if someone was following her. She felt like there was a huge weight lifted off her shoulders and the tension erased from her, she walked slowly enjoying her freedom. Thinking back at everything that happened before she was free from the man that stalked her, she remembered the price she nearly paid for it. Looking at her life now she knew that it was worth every ounce of pain and fear to feel this freedom.
Anya shook her head to clear it of the past and decided that she was not going to dwell on it no longer. She walked confidently and proudly as she walked into the park not far from her house, spying her brother there waiting for her she smiled. "Thanks for taking care of him James, I appreciate it so much." Anya said as she bent down to greet her dog Chance who was excited about seeing his owner again. "Hey Chance, I'm sorry it took so long for you to be able to come home. Don't worry no more ok buddy, we'll spend a long time together and I have your favorite treats at home."
"Your welcome Anya, he was a good boy. I gotta go I have to feed the dragons," James said grinning as he kissed her cheek softly then disappeared quickly.
Anya smiled as she took Chance's lead and walked around the park as she hummed softly to herself.
