Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

((Ooc: Gonna do it again. Love the signature xD Brilliant song))

Upon seeing his expression, Katherine felt terrible for bringing it up at all. It wasn't her place, she supposed, except for the fact that she had wanted to be part of his life in a way that would have made it her place. Now she wasn't sure that she would be suitable for that, despite perhaps the fact that he was a Pureblood as well and her father would approve at least somewhat. After what she had heard, though, she didn't doubt that her father and her brothers would be wary. Is that why they had ensured that Kai kept his distance while she was sick? Kit wasn't sure.

When he asked the question, she hesitated but opened her mouth to reply, only to be cut off by a seemingly-bitter response from the near-man in front of her. He would be gone at the end of the year, she realized, and yet she would be stuck there with two more years of wondering if she was meant to fit in or not. His words kept her attention, though, and the question was pushed back and compartmentalized, ready to be pulled out at a later time - likely after she knew the truth about him.

But break came and went, and she hadn't brought herself to say anything as she had wanted to. And after the whole dilemma with the snow over break, Katherine had been struggling. She had finally learned, though, thanks to the doctors. Her illness wasn't fatal.

So why did it hurt so much?

Katherine had stopped going to the library after she had gotten a number of angry looks from disgruntled students, and her feet carried her down the corridor towards the Orchestra classroom once more. When the door opened, she nearly froze with panic. Of course, of all people, she would have to run into Kai right off the bat. But she was growing more and more desperate to understand him. She should have asked that day, but she hadn't managed it. And now, she needed something besides the pain and the tiredness to focus on.

"Caiden," she greeted quietly, moving to sit in one of the chairs next to him. "Can I just..." she paused, wincing a bit at the pain in her side that arose when she sank into her chair. "Um," Kit tried again, "I just- I have a question, sort of. And, and you don't have to answer, I guess. But... You said that I only had one side of the story. But I want yours."

(Thanks; I can't agree more (with song being brilliant, I mean). I'm so sorry for waiting for my reply to this thread. :/)

Did he liked being questioned about that exact topic? Hell no. Does she has the right to ask him? Yes, she has. Although it was none of her concern, formally, he wanted to become one. God, if he continue to think like that he'll turn into a pussy and he couldn't afford himself being one. That is, if he's planning to get away with a murder. He can't let his guard down, not in his near future, not even in front of Katherine. He can't tell anyone what he did, there's too many people knowing already. Him, and Elizabeth. That name left bitter taste in his mouth, if he could find one person he hates the most, it would be her, not even his lovely wife could stand a chance against her. The only thing Elizabeth doesn't have are horns, well, maybe she has a pair, but she combs her hair so the horns don't show, along with compromising information that could gain him one way ticket to Azkaban, she was powerful. Dangerous. And insane. Awful combination. That means, he'll have to lie to Kit, that was something he never did before, never had reason powerful enough to make him do so. Until now.

He shut his thoughts, thing he recently learned, repeating sentence he learned on therapy his family sent him, "Just breathe, smile, and continue to live", the sentence was pointless, just as well as therapy he didn't need, but he played along with his father's wishes, just as he needed to play along with his story, now. Usually, he thought about the Orchestra room as his shelter, but seeing Katherine here once again didn't make him angry, just the opposite, he liked sharing his hiding place with her. Wasn't that as pathetic as he thought it was? Definitely. He thought his feeling disappeared few months after she disappeared year ago. He realized he couldn't be more wrong when he caught himself watching her. Again. Shifting his gaze just on time to remain uncaught he focused on abandoned violin without strings lying on the floor maybe three feets away. Smile crossed his face when he realized he never studied some instrument with this kind of intensity. He turned his head to face her hearing her calling him by his name, not his nickname, not Kai, the name he chose for himself, but his real name, the one he hated. "Um?" He frowned seeing her wince, yes he knew what kind of stories about him are travelling around among students, but he couldn't imagine those stories would make her wince. Does she hates him? Does she hates being here with him? Is she…is she afraid of him? Did she wince because he scared her? He barely did anything that could upset her, he just turned his head. That can't be that bad. He shifted his gaze unable to look in her direction, she can stay here, he couldn't forbid her that, but he can't choose whether he will or will not look disgust that might be painted all over her face in the moment as far as he knows, and he chose not to look. "It is true. Everything." He replied silently, not even sure what that everything is, if she needs more reasons to hate him he'll give it to her, he can do that, at least. He planned on lying her earlier, now it seemed that the truth will cause more damage than lying, maybe once when he's done talking, she'll wish he lied instead.

Kit drew in a surprised breath, her eyebrows pulling together in concern. She was sorely tempted to back even farther away, but Katherine doubted that would help anything. After all, what if he was just saying it to get her off of the topic? Her gut told her that was simply not true, but Kit was too worried for him, and that panic came on very suddenly. This wasn't the man she thought she knew, and now that she considered it, Kit found herself a bit worried that perhaps the house he was sorted into had had a negative affect on him.

She had never been one to truly stereotype the houses, given that her brothers had been in Slytherin. But it would be unfair to say that Mes and Luke were particularly kind or genuine. It wasn't as though she didn't love them, and they truly had their moments. But neither of the boys were angels. Maybe something had made Kai become the man he was now. She just wished he would tell his story. It all felt too much like rumor, too much like lies. It took ten times longer for someone to put themselves back together than it took for them to fall apart.

"I wish I could understand," she admitted aloud, her lips turning down in a pout. "They say terrible things, Kai. And I don't want to believe them. You don't have to tell me anything more right now, but... I hope you will someday."

She stopped to draw in a breath, and a tickle in the back of her throat brought out a series of coughs. Kit lifted a hand to try and stifle them, and after a few moments it worked. A bit of color rose in her cheeks, perhaps slightly surprising given her typically pallid features as of late. "Sorry," she murmured. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. That wasn't fair."
