Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

If you haven't seen yet, we've opened the thread for the Ministry Press Conference, here: https://www.pottersarmy.net/t19351-ministry-press-conference#393813

If you're not sure who to send, or how to get involved consider the following:

1. Anyone at the Ministry would know about it, and be able to invite their friends. So all Graduates could go, easily.
2. The Deputy Minister, Gideon, has just announced the change to the Ministry's definition of "magical creatures" stating that anyone who is not 100% human counts as an essentially non-human creature, and they are being rounded up to be "observed" by the Ministry. That said, if you have any magical creatures, they may or may not be brave enough to attend. (But, again, the more the merrier!)
3. After a drug trial at St. Mungo's, several people are getting sick. What the Wizarding World doesn't know right now, is that the people in charge of the trial knew it would hurt people. They knew it wasn't a vaccine at all, but instead an infectious disease that they were sending out. Most of the people have been quarantined, but at least one has not. The disease is almost definitely fatal, so people should be worried about this, and coming to hear what the Ministry is going to say/do about it.
4. Gideon wants to put the blame for things on Robert, the current Minister for Magic, and instate himself as the new Minister, kicking Robert out. Anyone who dislikes Gideon should want to go and try to find a way to get Robert back in. Anyone who likes Gideon would want to go and support him.

One thing to note: We understand that big threads are hard to follow. Trust me, we really do. But we're going to put updates around the site about what's happening, so people can follow along and keep involved. Once the big twist occurs, you'll definitely know, and we'll open the floor to smaller, one-on-one or group threads for those who want to write it out in a more quiet setting.
