DADA: Lesson 1, Pod 2

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

DADA: Lesson 1, Pod 2 Empty DADA: Lesson 1, Pod 2

(Okay, so, yeah, the intro post is the same, but hopefully the classes will take off in different directions.)

Michael found himself, once again, as a Hogwarts professor. He had agreed to substitute, but here he was already subbing, and for Defense Against the Dark Arts. He was certain few people knew much of anything about him. He would merely appears to them as if he was only an old man, and, for the most part, he was content in letting them believe that.

Unless someone had been unduly paying attention, they would not have noticed that at nearly every skirmish that they'd had requiring the fire power of an accurate wand, Michael had been there. Every time Minister of Magic Robert Lupin had needed backup for himself, Michael was his back up.

Who he was and what he did was not important. Teaching young witches and wizards how to protect themselves was. He poured himself a mug of tea from the kettle that was over the fireplace in his office, decended the stairs to the classroom and perched on the edge of the desk, checking his watch. It would be interesting to see who showed up for class and what skills they brought with them

DADA: Lesson 1, Pod 2 Empty Re: DADA: Lesson 1, Pod 2

Post by Jonathan Rutger Sun Oct 12, 2014 7:12 pm

Jonathan entered the classroom quietly, not wanting to disturb whatever was going on from beyond the doorway. To his delight, he was the first student to arrive on time. It wasn't much of a surprise: the boy was always eager to attend his classes, especially Defense Against the Dark Arts. The subject was his favorite and his strong point, and he was more than ready to pick up were they left off last year.

The boy made his way towards the front of the class, taking a seat in one of the desks in the second row closest to the front. He glanced over at the new professor and observed his posture, curious to know the story behind his wise and aging figure. Jonathan always respected elder wizards because they always held great knowledge and mysterious power with them. Well, maybe that was all just in his head, but the trend does seem to be prominent.

He pulled out his textbook, opening to were they last left off in order to get in some review. Jonathan wasn't too sure how this year's curriculum would work, since it was already starting off quite confusing, so he figured that a refresher was better safe than sorry.
