BOGGART: Being forgetten
Evander, though he doesn't show it, fears that his father will forget about him because he's too busy focusing on Cronis.
PATRONUS: Getting his first wand
Even though this is a great memory, it isn't strong enough to produce a patronus. He hasn't had anything too significant happen to him that would be strong enough.
DEMENTOR: Being sorted into Ravenclaw
The sorting itself isn't his worst memory. It's the fact that his father never praised him the way he wanted for the house he was sorted into. He knows that his father would have preferred that he be sorted into Slytherin like his brother.
VERITASERUM: He's grateful that he was sorted into Ravenclaw
He always tells people the opposite, particularly his father.
MIRROR OF ERISED: To be praised by his father the way Cronis always is.
PERSONALITY: Evander is an ISTJ.
"ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ. The secretary, clerk, or business(wo)man by whom others set their clocks is likely to be an ISTJ.
As do other Introverted Thinkers, ISTJs often give the initial impression of being aloof and perhaps somewhat cold. Effusive expression of emotional warmth is not something that ISTJs do without considerable energy loss.
ISTJs are most at home with "just the facts, Ma'am." They seem to perform at highest efficiency when employing a step-by-step approach. Once a new procedure has proven itself (i.e., has been shown "to work,") the ISTJ can be depended upon to carry it through, even at the expense of their own health.
ISTJs are easily frustrated by the inconsistencies of others, especially when the second parties don't keep their commitments. But they usually keep their feelings to themselves unless they are asked. And when asked, they don't mince words. Truth wins out over tact. The grim determination of the ISTJ vindicates itself in officiation of sports events, judiciary functions, or an other situation which requires making tough calls and sticking to them.
Their SJ orientation draws the ISTJ into the service of established institutions. Home, social clubs, government, schools, the military, churches -- these are the bastions of the SJ. "We've always done it this way" is often reason enough for many ISTJs. Threats to time-honored traditions or established organizations (e.g., a "run" on the bank) are the undoing of SJs, and are to be fought at all costs."
"Owing to their Observant (S) trait, ISTJs are unlikely to make many assumptions, instead analyzing their surroundings, checking their facts and arriving at practical courses of action. ISTJs are no-nonsense, and when they’ve made a decision, they will relay the facts necessary to achieve their goal, expecting others to grasp the situation immediately and to take action. ISTJs have little tolerance for indecisiveness, but will even more quickly lose patience if their chosen course is challenged with competing theories, especially if they seem impractical or ignore details – if a challenge becomes a time-consuming debate, ISTJs will become noticeably angry as deadlines tick nearer.
ISTJWhen ISTJs say they are going to get something done, they do it, meeting their obligations no matter the personal cost, and they are baffled by people who don’t hold their own word in the same respect. Combining laziness and dishonesty is the quickest way to get on ISTJs’ bad side. Consequently, ISTJs often prefer to work alone, or at least have their authority clearly established by hierarchy, where they can set and achieve their goals without debate or worry over other’s reliability.
ISTJs have sharp, fact-based minds, and prefer autonomy and self-sufficiency to reliance on someone or something. Dependency on others is often seen by ISTJs as a weakness, and their passion for duty, dependability and impeccable personal integrity forbid falling into such a trap.
This sense of personal integrity is core to ISTJs, and goes beyond their own minds – ISTJs will adhere to established rules and guidelines almost no matter the cost, reporting their own mistakes and telling the truth even when the consequences for doing so could be disastrous. To ISTJs, honesty is far more important than emotional considerations, and their blunt approach leaves others with the false impression that ISTJs are cold, or even robotic. ISTJs may struggle to express emotion or affection outwardly, but the suggestion that they don’t feel, or worse have no personality at all, is deeply hurtful to them.
ISTJs’ dedication is an excellent quality, allowing them to accomplish much, but it is also a core weakness that less scrupulous individuals will take advantage of. ISTJs seek stability and security, considering it their duty to maintain a smooth operation, and they may find that their coworkers and significant others will shift their responsibilities onto them, knowing that they will always take up the slack. ISTJs tend to keep their opinions to themselves and let the facts do the talking, but it can be a long time before observable evidence tells the whole story.
ISTJs need to remember to take care of themselves – their stubborn dedication to maintaining stability and efficiency can compromise those goals in the long term as others lean ever-harder on them, creating an emotional strain that can go unexpressed for years, only finally coming out after it’s too late to fix. If they can find coworkers and spouses who genuinely appreciate and complement their qualities, who enjoy the brightness, clarity and dependability that they offer, ISTJs will find that their stabilizing role is a tremendously satisfying one, knowing that they are part of a system that works."

CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------
Early Years: Being the youngest child is usually an amazing thing. The youngest kids get the most attention, the most praise, the most everything. But when you're the younger of twins, even if you're the youngest child, isn't good at all. In fact, it's one of the worst things ever, at least for Evander Yaxley it is. Evander is almost always forgotten, by both his parents most of the time. His mother remembers about him more than his father does, at least.
To his father, Cronis is the only one that matters. Cronis is the heir after all, and therefore the more important one of the two of them. If only he'd been born a couple of minutes after Evander.. Then things would be different. But then again, it was better that he wasn't the heir, other wise he'd have to deal with all the things Cronis has to deal with because of their father. But that didn't mean that Evander was content with being ignored basically all the time because he wasn't the heir to the Yaxley line. It wasn't fair.
Since they were little, Cronis had always been the stronger one of the two of them, the more athletic one, the more handsome one, the more outgoing one. Evander liked to stick to the background, not be noticed too much but now he hated it. He was always in Cronis' shadow and was always expected to act like him.
Since no one paid much attention to him, Evander was usually going off on his own, doing his own little things. He started getting into Muggle things, of course he kept it a secret from everyone, knowing that that would get him attention but not in a good way. He started having muggle, muggleborn, and halfblood friends that he knew his parents wouldn't approve of if they knew they were anything but Purebloods, but as he got older Evander slowly stopped caring about what they thought.
Obviously though, he didn't stop caring enough to not keep them hidden from his family. If any of his friends came to his home, Evander would say they were Purebloods, and his friends would act as much as a Pureblood as they could until they were left alone. Which obviously, happened quickly enough.
By the time he and Cronis were eleven, Evander had lost most of his hope of ever getting enough attention from anyone. He'd started to settle for being in the shadow of his brother. But when they received their Hogwarts letters, Evander saw an opportunity for doing something that would make his father extremely proud of him. And that was being sorted into Slytherin.
He only hoped that he had what it took to be one.
Hogwarts Years: The ride on the Hogwarts Express to the castle was an eternal one to the boy. He wanted to get there quickly and be sorted into the House that would finally make his parents, his father more specifically, proud of him. But there was also a bit of worry and fear within him that wanted the ride to last forever so he wouldn't make it to the castle. He was afraid that he wouldn't be sorted into Slytherin, or even worse, that he would be sorted into Gryffindor.
He knew how much his father wouldn't like it if one of his sons was a Gryffindor. Of course, since he was already kind of a disappointment, at least that's what he thought, it wouldn't be much more of a disappointment if he was sorted into Gryffindor. He was glad that he and Cronis were some of the last people to be sorted, at least he could get a chance to be calm enough to be sorted correctly.
Because that made much of a difference.
It didn't seem to take too long for the list to reach the Y's and Evander's breath caught in his throat when Cronis was called. He could tell his brother was nervous and he gave him a reassuring smile as he sat down and the Sorting Hat was placed on his head. After a few moments, the Hat called out "SLYTHERIN!" for Cronis and bursts of claps and cheers came from the Slytherin table as his brother moved from the chair and toward the table.
Evander held his hands tightly as he waited for the next name, his name, to be called. He moved rather stiffly to the chair where he would sit and have the Hat placed on his head. As the Hat sifted through his memories, he had trouble choosing what house to place Evander in. He had Slytherin traits, but he also had Ravenclaw traits. Evander's heart fluttered happily when the Sorting Hat mentioned that he would fit rather well in Slytherin, but it quickly sank when he heard, "RAVENCLAW!" being called out.
His mind blocked out the cheers from the Ravenclaw table as he moved off the seat and walked toward it. He glanced at the Slytherin table, looking for his brother's face. His heart sank further when he saw the sad smile on Cronis' face and Evander felt like crying. Getting sorted into Slytherin was his last hope, and now it was gone. The next day, the boys received a letter from their parents congratulating Cronis on his getting sorted into Slytherin. Most of the letter was about Cronis and how proud their parents were of him, except for on line where his father vaguely congratulated him.
As the years passed, that one letter and line never left Evander's head. He'd finally given up on making his parents as proud of him as they were of Cronis. Instead he began to focus more on his studies and getting good grades. The hope of his parents finally being proud of him was there, just really deep and it didn't matter too much to him anymore. He spent a lot of his time with Kit Avery who was a year younger than him, but was his best friend since they were younger.
Now, the only thing he wants to accomplish in his last year of school is get great grades on his NEWTs, and graduate.
