How many of our older members remember when we used to host monthly awards?
How many of our older members won one of those awards?
Do you remember the excitement? The joy you got when you won? The glee you got when you got your free signature?
Well guess what's coming back to PA?
Yes, what you read above is correct. I will be taking control of and hosting monthly awards for Potter's Army. Now for those of you who are newer and don't really know much about these monthly awards I will explain;
They aren't like Member of the Month or Student of the Month. These are purely for fun with made up categories and member nominated characters/writers. You will ultimately get to choose who wins. You get to vote for your favourite out of (usually) 4 nominees.
Usually nominations begin the last week of the month. Then I will allow 2-3 weeks of voting and discussion. Ending in the last week of the month where the winners will be announced and nominations will begin for the next month.
The success of the awards relies on you guys. You need to nominate. You need to vote. It would also help if I could get some award suggestions. Stuff like;
Most likely to fall in love with a random stranger.
Most likely to howl at the moon.
Most likely to drink themselves to near death this summer.
Longest poster.
Most detailed poster. etc. etc.
These awards can be based on characters or they can be based on the people behind the characters. I know I've won a few for Matt and one or two for myself. They really can be good fun. And they're good fuel for fun discussions!
Here is a general outline of how things are going to go down.
- 4-5 categories
- 4-5 nomiee's
- One week for nominating
- 2-3 weeks of voting
- One week of bragging rights for the winners & nominations again
- Each winner will receive a signature based around the award they won for that month.
(Also on a side note. I can do the sigs myself or if anyone would like to volunteer their services it would be greatly appreciated.)
Now I don't think it's been made yet but there will be an addition to the General Discussion's area on the forum where the awards will be held. If anyone has any more questions feel free to message me.
