One Big Happy Family

Eva had been home from school for a few days. She was very relieved to be home from Hogwarts, able to see her family and love on her pet snake Ali Baba. Before she left the train station she made sure to tell Katie that she would see her soon enough as her mother walked up to collect her and take her back home. She had really just finished unpacking all of her clothes from the school year. Her trunk laid at the foot of her bed with all of her school books still scattered about in it.

She laid on the bed holding Ali Baba for the first time in a few months, petting the snake’s head and talking to him, “Did you miss me?” she asked the python. “I missed you. Yes I did.” As if in an answer the snake began to curl itself around her hand and wrist as she lovingly held it. She could hear her mother in the background calling to her.

“Eva, si prega di completare il disimballaggio prima di tirare fuori il serpente. E 'già abbastanza grave che non siete a casa per prendersi cura di lui quando sei a scuola, ma si poteva almeno ripulire prima.” Her mother called to her. Eva rolled her eyes as she got up off the bed, her barefeet touching the coolness of the hardwood floors.

Walking into the kitchen where her mother was busy getting dinner ready, Eva made her way to the counter, leaning against it as she spoke. “Mamma può per favore iniziare a parlare in inglese. Non siamo in Italia più.” She replied looking down at Ali Baba and petting him lovingly. She looked up at her mother, “You do realize that we will be having guests over sometime that don’t speak Italian so you do need to speak in English and practice.” She looked down as Ali Baba looked up at her, wrapping himself around her arm.

(Converstation: Eva, please finish unpacking before you pull out the snake. It's bad enough you aren't home to take care of him when you're in school, but you could at least clean up first.
Eva: Mom can you please start speaking in English. We aren't in Italy anymore.)

It been awhile since Tyler seen Eva since he asked her to be his girlfriend after he was a douche to her.  Tyler smiled.  It really turned out to be a great day for them,  full of laughter, hugging and some cuddling and kissing.   Now Tyler was doing the one thing he haven't done in a long time, meeting his girlfriend parents.  Eva told him not to be scared,  but he couldn't help it, he was shaking!   He was wearing the same thing he wore wore to the carnival, Eva really liked it on him son he decided to wear it again.

Apparating in a alleyway that wasn't to from Eva's house,  he walked out of the alley handing towards her house. Standing in front of it, Tyler took a deep breath to calm his nerves before walking towards the door.  As he headed towards the door he felt his heart beating wildly in his chest.   Finally reaching the door,  he wiped his sweaty hands on his pants before straightening his clothes.  " Here goes nothing. " Tyler told himself before he rung the doorbell.

Hearing the doorbell ring throughout the house,  Tyler's heart beat increased with every moment he waited.   " God I hope it's Eva who answers the door. Tyler thought to himself.  Tyler heard footsteps heading towards the door he hoped and prayed it was Eva.  " Please be Eva, Please be Eva!"Tyler thought to himself.  Not that he didn't mind introducing himself before Eva did,  he just preferred if Eva did.

Eva heard the door ring and went to the front of the house, “I’ve got it Mamma!” she called out to her mum as she made it to the door. Ali Baba had made his way back to her hand as she pulled the door handle opening the door to Tyler. She stood there looking at him a little surprised that he had actually showed up. Not that she had doubted that he would chicken out, she just didn’t think that he would be able to come so fast.

“Hi.” She said opening the door to him so he could come in. “Its just me and mamma here. My dad had to go back to Italy. My Nonna isn’t feeling well.” She waited until he had come into the door before she shut it.

“Eva, who’s there?” her mother asked walking into the hallway stopping to look at Tyler. “Eva chi è questo?” she asked walking up to them a little more.

Eva looked between her mother and Tyler, “Mamma, this is Tyler.” She said looking at her. “Uh the guy I was telling you about on the way home from school.” Her face turned a little red and she looked down at Ali Baba before looking at Tyler. “He’s the one who invited me to America with him and Katie. Remember?”

Eva’s mother looked at Tyler and got a wide eyed grin as she walked up to him and put her hands on each of his shoulders, kissing him on each cheek. “Quindi sei il suo ragazzo?” Eva looked at her mum, “Mamma I told you to speak English. Tyler doesn’t speak Italian!” she glanced over at Tyler giving him an ‘I’m sorry’ look.

“Sorry.” Eva’s mum replied, “My English isn’t very good. Welcome.”

(Eva who is this? So you’re the boyfriend?)

Tyler smiled as he seen that it was Eva who opened the door.  "Hey Beautiful. "said Tyler softly smiling at her before giving her a kiss on the lips.  Listening to what she says,  Tyler nodded before walking into the house.   It was a very nice place indeed,  Tyler was fascinated by the inside of her house,  it was very much Italian culture which fascinated him.

Seeing Eva looking down he shook his head before walking over towards her.  " Don't ever look down or hide that beautiful face ok? " Tyler asked her softly.  " You're beautiful to me,  don't listen to what anyone else tells you. " said Tyler softly kissing the top of her head.  Seeing her mother coming towards them Tyler pulled away before letting out a small nervous cough.   You could tell he was nervous, even to meet her mother that he was shaking.


" Thank you Mrs. DeLuca,  it's a pleasure to meet you."said Tyler giving her a soft warm smile.   " Well... now I know where Eva gets her beauty from Mrs . DeLuca. " said Tyler softly before looking at Eva smiling.  " By the way,  you have a beautiful home. " said Tyler honestly.   It was true,  he thought it was a very beautiful decorated house.


Tyler was sure he was still shaking, it wasn't like him to be his nervous about things, but he really liked Eva. He didn't want to blow his chances with being with her due to her mother not liking him. Tyler told Eva he feared that her parents would think that he was a bad influence on her. Although Tyler was a douche bad boy, Eva is starting to show the good side of him that he haven't shown in a long time.

Eva laughed as he gave a nervous cough. It was visibly obvious that he was nervous, and she did understand why. Although her mother was the one who gave approval over everything in the household. If she said something was alright it was, and from what Eva could tell, her mother seemed to like Tyler.

Eva’s mum laughed a little and turned to look at Eva, “I like him.” She told her daughter in English this time, “You keep him.” She turned and looked at Tyler, “You stay for dinner yes?” she waited for Tyler to reply and then walked back off into the kitchen shaking her head to continue to cook.

Eva looked at Tyler, “My mum has been cooking for the past hour.” She said looking up at him, “My brother and sister are coming over for dinner apparently. Not that Michael doesn’t live here, he’s just never home anymore apparently.” She shrugged and moved to the living room, “Well this is my house.” She gestured to the house that had a large leather sofa in the living room against the wall opposite a fire place. There were pictures all over the place of her and her siblings and pictures of them in Italy with their grandparents.

She held up her hand that had Ali Baba, “And this would be my baby Ali Baba.” She said holding her hand out towards him. The snake stuck its tongue out towards Tyler a few times before turning his head and looking back up at Eva. “Do you want to hold him? If not I can put him up. I was told to start helping to clean up just before you got here.”

"Oh yes Mrs.  DeLuca,  that would be lovely Eva told me so much about your cooking I can't wait to try it. " said Tyler giving her a soft warm smile.   Tyler lifted his eyebrows as she told him that her mother been cooking a hour.  " Wow..it smells really good. " said Tyler honestly.   My mum spends all day in the kitchen preparing things. " said Tyler chuckling.  

Tyler nodded.  " So who's all coming?"Tyler asked her but curiously as he looked around before looking at her.   "Wow... As I told your mum it's beautiful. " said Tyler honestly.  Looking at the pictures on the wall he looked at Eva and smirked.  " That you?"Tyler asked her softly looking at the picture. "If so, you we're cute as a kid but you're beautiful now. " said Tyler smiling at her.  

Tyler shrugged.  " Sure! I love to hold him. " said Tyler honestly looking at her snake.   " You don't need any help do you? I'll be happy to help. "said Tyler.   " By the way,  I'm glad your mum likes me,  but what she meant by keep me?"Tyler asked her chuckling.   " Sorry... just curious that's all,  you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. " said Tyler honestly but softly.   " My sister would always bring home guys that were players,  took her on a couple of dates and never saw her again cause he didn't get lucky. " said Tyler softly.

“Well its just spaghetti.” She replied shrugging. “But my mum will spend all day perfecting it for some reason. I’ll never know why.” Before she got the chance to continue to reply her sister Bianca apparated in. She turned her attention to her. “Hi Bianca.” She said looking at her sister.

“Michael’s not here yet Evy?” she asked looking at her curiously. “Who’s this?” she asked while Eva was handing Tyler the snake. Bianca moved over to him, pushing her platinum blonde hair over her shoulder to look at him, “He’s not a muggle is he?” she asked curiously, her eyes sparkling. She heard him talk about Eva being beautiful as a child and what their mother had said. “Oh dear…” she moved her way into the kitchen. “It means she really likes you.”

Bianca had the tendency to try to make people nervous, but she really just didn’t feel like it today. God knows I don’t want to scare off Eva’s little boyfriend. she thought as Eva heard her from the kitchen speaking in Italian to their mother, “You really told Eva to keep him?!” she exclaimed laughing as Eva’s face turned red. Oh god they are going to start this now. Eva thought to herself.

“Yes that was me when I was little.” She said looking up at him, “You got a hold of Ali Baba?” she asked curiously as the door opened up to reveal her brother. “Michael!” she exclaimed running up to him and jumping on him to give him a hug. She had yet to see him since he had been arrested for not following the marriage law. “When did you get home?! Bianca took me up to the ministry the other week when everything happened? How did you get out?” she asked twenty questioning him. She was just excited to see her big brother. As excited to see him as she was to see Tyler.

“Wow Evy.” Her brother Michael said laughing as he pried her off of him and sat her on the ground. “Nonna and Papa paid it.” He said turning his attention to the guy standing in the middle of the living room. “And Evy you’re being rude. We have a guest you haven’t introduced me to yet.” He made his way over to Tyler, “Michael DeLuca. And you are?” he asked offering his hand towards Tyler.

Tyler chuckled.  " Sounds like my mum at times. "said Tyler honestly.  " My mum would make a salad but makes sure it's perfect before serving it!"said Tyler honestly before chuckling.  " I honestly don't know why they do that,  I guess to make sure one thing was good if all hell breaks loose."Tyler muttered to her.   " Not saying that it will here,  so don't take it the wrong way. " said Tyler softly.   " It just what happens at my house at times. "said Tyler honestly shrugging.

Tyler looked at Eva sister and smiled.  " Hi I'm Tyler, Tyler Lockwood. " said Tyler.  Tyler chuckled and shook his head.  " No I'm a Half - blood. " said Tyler.  Seeing her sister walk into the kitchen Tyler looked at Eva and chuckled.  " So... you're mum really likes me huh?"Tyler asked her softly.   "As for what you're mum said about keeping me, don't worry I'm not going anywhere. " said Tyler softly kissing her cheek.


Seeing Eva face turning red Tyler's hazel eyes looked at her confused.  " I...um... am I missing something here?"Tyler asked her softly.  Tyler nodded.  " Yeah I got him. " said Tyler honestly as Ali Babba wrapped himself around Tyler's arm.    Tyler stood aside playing with Eva snake before her brother introduced himself to her.   Sticking out his hand he realized Eva's snake was on his right hand.  

"Sorry about that man, I'm Tyler,  Tyler Lockwood Eva's boyfriend. "said Tyler shaking his hand.  "Whoa! She wasn't even like that when she saw me!"said Tyler jokingly before chuckling. Although he knew why, Eva told him all about him being locked up for not following the marriage law. Which was stupid in his opinion, the ministry knew that not everyone was going to follow that stupid bloody law. It was stupid in Tyler's opinion that they even made it.

"Nothing." She replied. "You just can't understand what they are saying and I can." She replied as Michael put her down. She turned and looked at Tyler. "I haven't seen my brother since before Christmas. " She moved back over by Tyler.

"Well good luck." Michael replied, "This one is trouble. Just no one knows it yet cause she's the baby." Michael chuckled as he started to walk off. "By the way Evy, sorry dad can't be here for your birthday today. I know you wanted him here." He turned at walked off towards his room.

"Uh thanks." She replied to her brother as she turned to look at Tyler. "So what are you wanting to do until it's time to eat?" She asked curiously. She looked down. It really bothered her that her dad couldn't be there, but she understood that he was busy helping to take care of things back in Italy for their grandparents.

Tyler nodded and chuckled. " It's fine really Evy, they were just laughing so I thought I missed something. " said Tyler shrugging. " It's fine, I understand family comes first to me as well. " said Tyler softly but honestly.

Tyler chuckled. " Don't worry man, I think I can handle her. " said Tyler chuckling. Tyler looked at her and frowned, he could see it in her eyes that she was upset. "I'm sorry that your dad isn't here on your birthday. " said Tyler softly. " But.... Katie told me today was your birthday, so I got something that might cheer you up I hope. " said Tyler softly. Taking the box out of his pocket he walked up towards her.

" Close your eyes. " said Tyler softly as he opened the box and put the emerald green heart necklace around her neck, hooking it through Tyler Tyler smiled. " Ok.... now open. " said Tyler softly smiling at her. " I hope you like it, Katie helped me pick it out. " said Tyler honestly. " Come on, lets go walking I seen there was a park not to far from here if you want to go."said Tyler softly. " We can play on the swings and slide, I can totally see us rocking those out just like we did the carousel. " said Tyler honestly.
