Ah, the Great Lake!
The seemingly only place where people would never go, a fascinating reserve of water that is probably loaded upon loaded of different or dangerous bacteria! A great place to go to swim with your friends, and the occasional dangerous creature or two! If they had this place on a brochure, they'd probably ask you to stay as far away from the water as humanly possible. To tell the truth though, Gordan was having a marvelous time. He sat above the ground, swinging precariously on a tree branch that was thick and strong enough to support his body. He was having a field day, just messing around on the branches, the feeling of the constant danger was something he attributed to his younger days, when that's all he did.
Lurching his body back and forth like a downright lunatic, he smiled from ear to ear as he swung himself out as far as he could go and let go, allowing his body to soar through the air for a brief moment. Gravity caught up to him, his heart pounded, his muscles aching, the sheer feeling of death encroaching just made him feel more alive. He landed on the ground and quickly made himself into a ball, rolling across the grass quickly before coming to a complete stop on his back. The technique there had been taught to him when he was younger, a much more attractive maid was a gymnast and practiced jumping from time to time. Rolling your body to distribute the force was a much better alternative to breaking a leg, even if that leg could be healed almost instantaneously with magic. Much less pain.
Swinging himself up from the ground, he quickly ran back up the tree, finding each spot where he could sink his fingers into, or grabbing onto another branch and working his way up. It was almost strategy when climbing a tree, finding each spot where to go, how to get as high as possible without killing yourself, it was genius!
The adrenaline was still pumping throughout his veins though, he was starting to get cocky. Each leap upwards was quicker than the last, and the inevitable finally happened. He missed one of his leaps going up and instantly plummeted to the ground. Falling down and the canopy of the tree moving farther and farther from his view, he instantly felt a splitting pain all over his body, causing him to yelp unexpectedly. His back had taken the full front of the attack, with his arms and legs to follow. His head hurt too, but mostly from the pain that shot from all over his body. He felt like crying, but mostly anger flew throughout his body. He did it again.
This was the fifth time he had fallen from a tree today, mainly because of his overconfidence. The canopies seemed to laugh at him above, the wind blowing the leaves and branches back and forth, light flowing in through the cracks down onto his face. Gordan made a painful face as he lied there, writing in agony. He would probably want to wait a couple minutes before getting back up again. His clothes were probably dirty all over too, the prefects would have his head if he were caught right now. Great.
After some time had passed, he noticed the sun was at it's peak...mainly due to the amount of light pouring down onto his eyelids. He felt like maybe even taking a nap, but with all that light in the way, what would be the point in even trying? So instead, he began counting the minutes he lied there. First five minutes, then 10, then he just got bored. So much for that. He felt a lot better now, he just really did not feel like getting up. He cursed gravity's name and began to slow his breathing.
Feeling more relaxed, he actually started tuning out of his consciousness. He felt peaceful and his body wouldn't respond to him whether he liked it or not. After some time, he was finally asleep, snoring silently as time continued to pass by.
