Jadis bit her lip as she pointed her wand at the chair, getting herself ready to cast the spell. 'Come on now, you've got this! Practice makes perfect, remember? Just keep focus and stay calm.' She thought to herself as she gently took a deep breath to steady herself.
Jadis had been spending her afternoon in the Common Room to practice her Transfiguration spells, and she was determined to make sure all of her spells were right. Just because Transfiguration isn't her best class doesn't mean she couldn't keep trying. She wanted to show that she didn't need help, that she was capable of being able to perform a simple spell by herself. She was determined to as well, she didn't want to be dependent on others for anything. She had learned to work on her own, not wanting to risk herself from being too dependent and for allowing herself to focus more without as much distraction. She's generally social, but her work and priorities always felt best when she did them alone.
'I can do this.' She nodded to herself as she carefully waved her wand and muttered, "Evanesco!". She watched as the chair remained still for a moment, then suddenly disappeared before her very eyes. Pocketed her wand, she walked over to the empty space and waved her hands around to find any signs of the chair before gleefully shooting her fist in the air. She was glad that she had managed to finally cast the Vanishing Spell successfully after days of practice. It may have been a small accomplishment to others but to her it was an accomplishment nonetheless. Grinning, she twirled her wand and looked around the Common, searching for another object that she could practice on.
