Elsie Norton was ridiculously excited.
She would be seeing her soul sister soon, and yet, not soon enough. But she was closer than she had been in so long, and this time, she would be here to stay. Claire Bishop had been so patient, surely miserable without her best friend to relieve her. While Elsie did like to consider herself essential to the life of Claire Bishop, she did know, as a matter of fact, that her blonde counterpart had been incredibly lonely on her own in the United Kingdom. London was just not New York City. Claire had never said it outright in their comminications, but Elsie could tell that Claire had not fully adjusted.
Elsie had a ridiculous amout of luggage. Two rolling bags, a carpet bag, a medium-sized duffel bag, three shopping bags, and her overstuffed purse. The conductor of the Knight Bus, a shrimpy boy who must have been a Squib, had cringed at the very sight of her. She had taken a armchair and thrown her bags on the luggage rack, fully expecting to be hit in the head when they surely were flung from their place.
She checked her makeup in her compact as the bus slammed to a halt. She glanced out the window, trying to see who would be joining her. She did not want to run in to too many people before she surprised Claire, but she would love to get a feel for her new home.
