One of the few things Liana took comfort in was the fact that she could do pretty much anything a normal Muggle could do, provided it was safe and didn’t suggest any training with the NSA. No adventures for her, unfortunately; but tea could certainly be had without question. Although she could easily find tea down the street from her ridiculous little store, she was growing a little stir crazy from being trapped in her row of buildings for too long.
As her feet carried her closer and closer to the wrong side of town – the Wizarding side of London – Liana had to actively force herself to stop walking. At one street corner across the way, a little pub was perched rather helpfully. Sighing quietly, the blonde crossed the street and let herself into the building. After placing her order, she settled down at a table next to the window and pulled out her latest novel. All she seemed to do lately was read. Gods, what she wouldn’t give for something new to happen to her. Anything. Everything. She would take whatever she could get.
A polite brunette dropped her tea and scone at Liana’s table, and was greeted with a smile before she departed. Tucking her hair behind her eat, Liana broke off a piece of the scone and set it on her tongue before opening the book to her mark and started off again.
At least within the pages of her books, the woman could imagine she was still in St. Petersburg with Noah and Ricky. Well, not exactly. But she could see herself as someone else for a time, so that was something, she mused. Almost immediately, the words started swimming off the pages, replaced with memories of Florida and how everything had gone wrong. That flight out of St. Petersburg had nearly destroyed her.
Yet she remained, as she always did.
No one could ever claim she was fragile. No, Liana was persistent. More so than Maeley had ever felt. She ignored the fact that she had just said that she was stronger than… herself. Shaking it off, she picked up her tea and sipped from it, blinking the words back to their proper location and order.
