CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------
Early Years: Tank’s parents were Death Eaters for several years prior to Tank’s birth. It was when Patricia discovered she was pregnant that she decided she could not continue living the life of a Death Eater and raise a child in that environment in good conscience. They faked their deaths and, after developing new identities and changing several key facial features, moved to the outskirts of rural London where they moved into a peaceful wizarding community. Tank’s father developed his new career around educating young witches and wizards. At first he saw this as a way to influence young wizards and corrupt and brainwash them into joining the Death Eaters cause. However, after his son was born he saw what his wife saw and realized that he was destroying the world not building a better place for future generations. Tank spent his childhood years close to home and somewhat stifled when the Jones’ did get out. His parents were fearful of what would happen if the truth about their departure were ever discovered and as such they were very controlling in where Tanquery went and who he was with. Tank interpreted this as nothing more than his parents being overbearing and protective. Shortly after his tenth birthday he discovered some relics of his parents past hidden within the home. Worried about being discovered and punished he replaced the items immediately but researched what he had found. It took him very little time to discover the origin of the artifacts and as such he was shocked to find out that his parents were Death Eaters. He confronted his parents and was nearly traumatized to learn the truth. He was slightly comforted to learn that they had left that life behind but at times he wonders if this is just another lie. His parents and he decided to forgo his first year at Hogwarts and spend time as a family to help Tank realize that they really had left that life behind and were focused on building a better future for the world. After a year they were comfortable in letting Tank go to Hogwarts and felt comfortable trusting him to not let their secret slip. They realized it may be hard for him to adjust with his classmates, being a year older than all of them, but decided it was for the best. Tank is now secure in his relationship with his parents and has come to understand that his parents did what was best for him and for the wizarding world. They are focused on improving the world and those in it, and are no longer focused on establishing a ‘wizard first’ society. Hogwarts Years: N/AAdulthood: N/A

His parent’s history is with the ‘evil’ side while Tank’s natural instincts are to protect the weak.RP SAMPLE: It was the day of Tanquery’s twelfth birthday. Summer holidays were coming to a close soon and Tanquery was both excited and apprehensive. He had spent the last year in a rural wizarding community in the outskirts of London. It had been his home for the last twelve years but it was this past year that had been different and it was because of this it seemed like a whole new world Tank was living in. Tank, even his friends nickname for him took on new meaning. Before, he’d simply seen it as children struggling to pronounce his name. Or even as a few of the older kids poking fun at him for his size. But now, he almost wore his name as a symbol. The reason only older kids mockingly called him Tank, was because he was larger than most of the kids his age and even a few of the kids older than him. As Tank hated bullies he typically made them pay for anything they said or did that Tank perceived as rude, mean, or evil. Recently though, especially with the revelation of his parents’ past, he was no longer beating up classmates for calling him Tank; but was instead beating up classmates for bullying and was proud to be a ‘tank’.This had caused him quite a bit of trouble recently as his parents were not proud to constantly be receiving howlers from others parents. As such he’d been restricted to the house most of this past summer. It hadn’t been the worst summer ever, he’d been to a muggle football match with his father and for his birthday they were going to a quidditch match. But that wasn’t the best part of all. Today he was expecting his second letter from Hogwarts. He’d been held back from his first year by his parents and Tank was glad that they had done so, he’d gotten to spend an entire year with his family. Now however, he was glad to be going to Hogwarts. So glad that he and his parent’s had already bought most of the supplies and even his wand already. The family was currently eating around their moderate table in the comfortable home. They weren’t very rich but they could afford most of the luxuries afforded to him by the wizard world as long as they stayed within their means and didn’t go on too many expensive outings. There was a rap on the kitchen window above the sink where the post always came. Tank sprang from his seat and ran quickly to the small kitchen adjacent to the dining room. There was a brown, barn owl one of the largest and most regal that Tank had ever seen in his young life. There was a small yet heavy and thick letter tied to the owls’ leg. Tank untied it and gave the owl a treat to chew on while it waited for Tank’s reply. He ripped open the letter and pulled out the contents. There was a letter of invitation, a materials list, and reply sheet. Tank quickly filled it out and noted that he would be attending his first year of Hogwarts in the fall. He tied the letter to the owl’s leg and sent it on its way while he sorted through the rest of the material that came in the letter. Tank’s parents were beaming down on him and made several comments about his excitement. Tank couldn’t hear them now though, and as such couldn’t answer. He was going to Hogwarts in a few months, and nothing could be better.
