PERSONALITY: No matter which way you look at it, Madeline is your typical Hufflepuff. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind, or at least there shouldn’t be, that she belonged in that house. She is one of the most loyal, honest and hard working people you will ever meet. Of course she has some things that some people will not like, but then again who doesn’t. Madeline can often be considered annoying though, because she is so loyal that it seems like she can become over attached to something even though that is typically not the case. Maddie is a very friendly and outgoing person who loves to talk to people. Though one strange thing about a woman like her is the fact that she doesn’t seem to like children, like toddlers, for some reason.

Early Years:
Madeline Amelia Ross is the second born of two children. Both of which are girls. As a young girl, Madeline and her sister Esther had a sort of rough life. Their father rarely paid attention to them, constantly leaving for hours at a time to a place that neither of them knew about. Their mother always seemed sad for some reason and at first they didn’t think anything of it, they were too young to really understand why she was sad. But as they got older they understood more and Maddie decided that she didn’t really like her father. It seemed like their father did nothing more than hurt or upset their mother, and Madeline did not like that one bit.
At around the age of ten - while Esther was fifteen - , the girls discovered that their father was having an affair with another woman. Esther, being the older girl and who understood more about those things, had a very unpleasing reaction to the discovery. Madeline, while she didn’t quite understand what was going on, had a bad reaction to it as well. Finding out that her father was with another woman that wasn’t her mother was a hard thing for the ten year old girl and at that point she began to build a deep hatred for her father though she never let that affect the way she was with anyone else. She was always a bubbly and happy, friendly girl toward others. But when it came to her father she was almost always cold toward him.
Hogwarts Years:
At the age of eleven, Madeline received two letters. One from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and one from Durmstrang Institute of Magic. Since her sister was at Durmstrang, that school was the obvious choice. However, Maddie chose to go to Hogwarts, where she could have a clean start to everything, even though Esther would only be at the school for a year after she was there, Maddie knew that any reputation her sister had there would fall on her and she didn’t want to have to live up to a reputation she probably wouldn’t be able to live up to. It was simpler to just go to another school and start fresh, that was something that both her mother and sister understood. Her father didn’t seem to like it, but she didn’t give him a choice. It was either Hogwarts or she wouldn’t go to school at all.
Once she was at Hogwarts, Maddie was sorted into Hufflepuff, which seemed to fit her perfectly. She was loyal, honest, hard working and really, very bubbly and happy to fit into any of the other houses. She was happy with her house and she spent her seven years at Hogwarts happily meeting new people and making friends, no matter what house they were in. She even had two best friends, one in Slytherin and one in Gryffindor, awkwardly enough. Somehow the other two got along, though it was only because they didn’t want Maddie to feel awkward or upset by anything that the two of them did.
During the last few months of her fourth year, Madeline received a letter from her sister informing her that their mother had passed away. That was probably the saddest news she had ever received and she hadn’t known what to do with herself after she found out her mother had died. She had been with her friends when she read it and she ended up waking up in the Hospital Wing. It turned out that she had blacked out from the shock of what she had learned. After she got out of the Hospital Wing, after spending two days in there, Maddie wrote to her sister asking what had happened. Esther wrote back about two days later, telling her that their mother had killed herself. She had overdosed on a medication she had been given for something and she had just taken too many. They didn’t know if it was on purpose but Maddie immediately blamed her father for her mother taking her own life.
He had never been a good husband and she probably hadn’t been able to take it any more. She didn’t blame her mother either. She wouldn’t have been able to stand a husband like that for as long as her mother had done. Without any proof of what she thought, Maddie stopped talking to her father. She spent the summers at her sister’s apartment while she went to work and they had a lot of fun times while she was there, either after her sister got out of work or when she had days off. During her remaining years at Hogwarts, Maddie studied hard and got good grades for her mother, she also decided that she would join the Order of the Phoenix after she graduated because she knew her father was on the Death Eater’s side and she wanted to be nothing like him at all.
Adulthood: After she graduated, Maddie did as she had decided near the start of her seventh year, she ended up join the Order. She always told herself that she was doing it because she knew it would make her father mad and he wouldn’t like it at all, but she also did it for another stronger reason. She did it in memory of her mother who was an Order member before she died. After she did that, she and her sister lost communication for the most part. Esther ended up marrying a Death Eater and she began to support their ways, which was something Maddie did not like and she wanted to stay away from anyone who was or supported the Death Eaters.
After that, Maddie decided to study medicine and she ended up becoming a healer because she liked to feel useful and she had always had a knack for taking care of and healing people though she tended to not show it off to most people.
