Ana regarded Kaiden carefully, glancing at Charlotte for a moment to get an idea of what the girl was thinking. Clearly this girl he'd mentioned was important if he was so careful about explaining. That, or she was a Pureblood and he knew it wouldn't work out. Ana couldn't say she would show any sympathy for that sort of situation.
For a Slytherin, Ana thought the boy showed quite a lot of his feelings. When he found his voice, however, she lifted an eyebrow. The second statement was belated and seemed to be almost on accident - as if he had surprised even himself by saying it.
It was really a judgement call on Ana's part now - would Elijah be furious if she suggested he petition the Ministry for this engagement? Eli may not have believed the boy. Somehow, Ana could feel that it wasn't a story he had just thrown out at random - much like Jacquellene had at the Ministry a few days before. What he felt seemed honest, Ana decided.
"Well, then. You'll have a week to petition the Ministry to switch partners, provided you're telling the truth. I daresay it will be investigated to some extent." Ana warned him quietly, voice low enough to instill fear in those with anything to hide.
Turning to Charlotte, Ana added, "You will be contacted come time for your new match meeting. I may not be the Ministry Representative at your second meeting, but I also cannot say how soon it will be. Just be prepared for it."
Standing, Ana looked down at the two students. "I expect everything will work out." Her eyes narrowed once more at Kaiden, but she knew that if he was lying, and was found out, it wouldn't really be her fault. She wouldn't be the one in trouble, in the end.
