What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Professor Hayes arrived a good five minutes early to his classroom before class to start preparing for the lesson. Turning the board around so the lesson wasn't visible, he picked up multiple statuettes off of the front table and began placing them on the desk of each of the students. Each of the statuettes portrayed the animal that belonged to that student's house at Hogwarts.

Once the statuettes were placed, he pulled out the box he had brought in that morning and placed it on the front table. While the students were working on the spell, Keiran would be setting up what was in the box - an extra challenge, mostly for House Points and for kicks. Smiling to himself, he decided that this could well be one of the more fun lessons these students would have if he taught it properly.

Walking around to the back of the board, he flicked his wand and watched as the chalk drew an animal on the board for him - he wasn't brilliant at art, though his wand clearly was. Nearly laughing at himself, he grinned and walked back around to the side of the board close to the desks to give everything a once-over before the class started.

Jonathan abandoned the bustling Great hall and ventured his way to his first class of the day. Of all the classes to start the terrific day today it had to be Transfigurations. He muttered a few complaints in his native tongue while his footsteps echoed down the halls. With the pressure of the O.W.L.s looming over his shoulder, he wasn't exactly at ease; then again the shy boy was not often at ease but rather tense and vigilant. Still, Jonathan had proven to be an excellent student so he shouldn't be too worried.

The young boy stood frozen in front of the door to Transfigurations, heart pounding rapidly in his chest. He hoped he would be the only one to have arrive by now since he often came to class early to avoid majority of contact with people. He took a nervous deep breath then entered the room slowly. To his delight, he was the first to arrive. His gaze flicked over to the professor as he watched him prepare just before the lesson would begin. "....Hello," the boy spoke almost in a whisper.

The first student arrived early as Keiran walked around chalkboard and returned to the side of the desks. Something about the boy made Keiran pause in his steps. The boy seemed almost nervous. Hoping it was just first day nerves, Professor Hayes gave him a smile in greeting.

"Good morning." Keiran answered before waving a hand at the seats. "Sit at a desk with your house animal on it." He explained. Seeing that the boy was a Ravenclaw, he pointed to one of the desks with the appropriate statuettes placed atop it.

The lesson would be interesting, no doubt, depending on how the students took it. Hopefully they would realize it was mostly meant to be fun for them as much as to teach them. Keiran was the type of teacher to want his students to appreciate his teaching as much as trust that he really wants them to do well. He had known some Professors who didn't care how well the students did, though he didn't understand them. Why would someone like that ever become a teacher?

Jonathan nodded and made his way over to the small desk. He sat down and examined the eagle statuette before him. The beautiful bird held a noble stature that the young boy admired. Maybe he too would hold such a stature when he is older.

The boy now began to to think to himself what they would use these statuettes for. Perhaps they would vanish them? Or perhaps they would bring them to life maybe? The questions floated around his mind as he stares silently at the Ravenclaw statuette.

Keiran watched as the Ravenclaw made his way to a seat which held aloft a statuette of his house mascot. They were waiting on a couple students still, but there were a few minutes before he would have to start the class fully.

He would be expecting another Ravenclaw, as well as a Gryffindor, and hopefully the two would be on time. He may have been Head of Slytherin, but that didn't mean that he particularly enjoyed embarrassing students by taking House Points away.

Professor Hayes moved to sit at his desk once more, allowing the boy to take a few minutes for himself. It was fairly early and the Professor didn't know Jonathan well enough to strike up conversation. Something about the Ravenclaw told Keiran that it would be rather difficult to do so, regardless.

Jonathan checked his watch and looked around the room. Class should starting right about now yet he was the only one in class. Did something happen? Maybe the clocks were off and he was just ridiculously early than he intended to be. It bored him to just sit here and wait on others in order to start learning but it was a sacrifice he had to deal with.

Since there was no one around, he suppose it wouldn't hurt to talk to the professor for a moment. He took a deep breath and shoved his nerves aside. "Professor?" He spoke up as he turned his gaze towards him. "What exactly are we doing for today's lesson.... if I may ask?"

Keiran looked at the door with a frown. How strange, he mused, that so many students were having trouble getting to class. There were a few minutes left, but this class was starting to look like it might turn into a private session. That would certainly be a first. Perhaps there was some reason they were going to be late. If all else failed, he would question them and determine if they needed to have House Points taken away.

The professor looked up in surprise as Jonathan asked him a question. He didn't often tell students about their lesson before class started, not wanting to give some a head start on looking up the spell or some such and then would be able to earn House Points without having known it in advance.

"We'll be changing objects into animals." He said vaguely, aware of the many spells that could be used for such a purpose. Hopefully, Jonathan actually liked Transfiguration and would enjoy the lesson. "If students don't arrive soon, we'll just go ahead with the lesson."

((OOC: If no one replies by Wednesday, they'll go ahead and just assume they're late))

"Right," Jonathan replied. He gazed back down at the statue before him and began to think. Changing them into animals seemed difficult; especially since he wasn't too good at transfiguring. More importantly, how would he do it? He couldn't recall any spells that would bring the statues to life or turn them into any living thing.

The more he thought about the task, the more discouraged he felt. Jonathan looked over towards the door and saw that there were still no signs of the other students. He had never experienced a one on one lesson before, though he didn't mind it either. It would mean he wouldn't have to worry about how crowded the class was or how noisy it would be. He could stay focused and think without his fears pestering him.

The boy took out his textbook and began to study silently to himself as he continued to wait along side Professor Keiran for the other students to hopefully arrive. He might as well used the time wisely and try to figure out how he was supposed to accomplish this task.

Elisabeth hurried up to the transfiguration classroom, she couldn't be late her first day, all that went through her mind was how late she was. Panting she finally made it up to the fourth floor, and walked quickly to the transfiguration classroom. She composed herself, smoothing out her clothing and straightening her hair, and walked in, a shy smile on her face.

"Hello Professor." she greeted softly, she noticed another Ravenclaw boy already in the classroom, and noticed he had a raven figurine on his desk. Elisabeth quickly studied the other figurines, lions, badgers, snakes. They all corresponded to the Hogwarts houses. Elisabeth searched for one of the desks with a Raven on it, and took her seat, following what the boy before her had done.

Elisabeth took her transfiguration textbook out of her bag and set it on the desk, placing the bag back on the ground, and waited for further instruction.
