Amelia Cooper (Apparition, Nonverbal Magic)
---
Name: Amelia Cooper
Age: 41
Ability Desired: Occlumency
Level Desired: Moderate
Training: Amelia never went under formal training occlumency came to her as a defence mechanism and she adapted her mind and began to close out her thoughts and emotions. It was the time of her husbands death that triggered her intial response to becoming an occlumens and later the disappearence of her son Toby. She found it easier to deal with the situation by channeling her thoughts, relaxing and closing her mind in order to allow her to stay strong for her daughter Hallie and in the process she began to develop occlumency. When she noticed this Amelia then researched the topic and began to train her mind even more because she found it desireable and a useful tool. In addition, unlike Hallie, she doesn't like to let her emotions run away with her.
Brief RP:
Amelia lay in bed, her grey eyes gazing up at the ceiling. She had moved into her new accommodation: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. It was here where she'd taken up the position of charms professor and head of Ravenclaw house. Furthermore in honour of her house she had decorated the ceiling with blue drapes embroidered with silver stars.
It was these drapes that her eyes were focused upon, they minded her of her teenage years lay in the Ravenclaw dormitory where she would ponder different things - mainly school work. Amelia had never been one for sleeping and thirty years or so later she was still having the same problem.
Robert had eased it for a while. Robert. Her late husband. Amelia loved him so deeply but found that dwelling upon him wouldn't bring him back. There were times and places to remember Robert and tonight was not one of them she really needed her sleep.
Briefly, Amelia closed her eyes tight before opening them again. Robert wasn't at the forefront of her mind, he was slowly dissolving into the subconcious. Her eyes remained fixed upon the drapes, the drapes didn't remind her of anything. They were simply cotton, atoms arranged in a decorative manner that resembled nothing. Amelia was gazing at nothing, her blank eyes mirroring her mind. Robert had been closed off and nobody could bring him back but her. Amelia was in total control and although she wasn't ready to sleep she felt relaxed and undisturbed.
