Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

What house would your character NOT survive in? (Short reason "why," if you're up to it!)

Opposite House: Slytherin
Why: Leo's waaaaaay too naive and trusting.

Jack would survive in any house, I think, but I think that the Ravenclaws would have ostracized her the worst. Slytherins might not have liked her, but she had too many of their qualities for them to not secretly respect her. And no Hufflepuff could deny she didn't work hard at what she loved. But she refused to study, she disrupted class, and she made her education a joke - and still managed to get pretty good grades. I think the Ravenclaws would have tried to make her life hell.

Opposite House: Slytherin
Why: I figure Tris has to be rather brave to do the investigations and whatnot, so Gryffindor wouldn't be completely the wrong house. She's quite nice as well, so Hufflypuffs wouldn't shun her. But she's not exactly cunning, nor is she sly. She's really only got the one main goal right now, so she's not overly ambitious, either.

House: Slytherin. Definitely.
Why: Nate's waaaay too trusting. He's also really hyper and happy and most Slytherins would probably tease him about how he is.

House: Gryffindor
Why: Bertie is a bright boy with a wild imagination and utilizes his intelligence and knowledge when being creative, which is why he was put into Ravenclaw. Of course he works hard, is honest, likes to do things by the book and not get into trouble - PLUS he is kind and was almost placed into Hufflepuff so that really can't be his opposite. Then there is Gryffindor and Slytherin. Well, he gets along great with Vivianna, a Slytherin, and has a degree of ambition in that he wants to do something creative and he looks in the mirror of erised and sees himself being celebrated, which leaves Gryffindor.
He wouldn't fit in Gryffindor at all. Sure he would like the characters in Gryffindor but they are far too loud and 'in your face' for quiet, reserved Bertie who would rather be alone than in a big group of people. Plus he is a real scardy cat Razz

House: Hufflepuff
So, Kat-Car never went to Hogwarts, but if she had she almost certainly would have ended up in Slytherin. If not, then Ravenclaw. She has all the classic Slytherin traits, but loves knowledge too. While she can be brave and sometimes daring, I don't think she would fit too well in Gryffindor. HOWEVER, she would NEVER survive in Hufflepuff. She is in no way kind or trusting, and has little sense of loyalty. She'd probably have gone on a murderous rampage or something. So yah.

Slytherin, actually. Bizarre, I know, but stay with me.

Eli's non-confrontational, not deliberately conniving and, while he's self-serving, won't stab everyone in the back in order to meet his ends. He was way better suited to Hufflepuff - whether he realises it or not - and only got away with surviving in Slytherin because he was a notorious womaniser - so everyone left him alone. Had he been himself they would've eaten him alive.

Opposite House: Gryffindor
While Kataina would not survive in Slytherin, she is even less suited for Gryffindor. She's not brave enough to stand up for herself or what she wants, only sometimes being able to for her friends. Kat is not arrogant or cocky - in fact she is quite self deprecating. The noise and energy of Gryffindor wouldn't sit well in a girl who enjoys silence an calm. While being a lion could bring out some positive qualities in her she would never have been sorted there in the first place.

Opposite House: Gryffindor
This was rather hard, actually. If Viv wasn't a Slytherin, she'd definitely be a Ravenclaw. She likes learning (most subjects) and often gets lost inside books or looses time during projects (usually involving potions). While she could hardly be described as loyal, she will stick by the few people she truly cares for and is not afraid of hard work (even though she will often try to avoid it). Therefore, while she is hardly Hufflepuff material, her opposite house is none other than Gryffindor. Cliché, no? While she can be brash or blunt at times, she is far from brave, preferring to run from confrontation and then quietly deal with the problem later. She would be unable to handle the friendly, loud, and social aspects of being a Gryffindor, and would probably rather drop out of Hogwarts than wear a red and gold tie.

Opposite House: Hufflepuff.
If Cupid wasn't in Slytherin then, oddly, he would most likely actually be a Gryffindor. He is bold, daring and slightly adventurous. He wants to do something energetic and bold in life that would get him noticed, much like how Harry Potter became famous. I was torn on whether he would be more likely in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff for the opposite house but went against Ravenclaw because although he doesn't like to study, has no interest in academica purely for learning sake he is naturally intelligent and when he puts his mind to something he can actually do rather well. Meaning Hufflepuff is his opposite house. He isn't the most trusting, owing to the fact that he likes to share secrets and what not. On top of that, although he can be loyal ultimately he would save himself over others and has that belief that Hufflepuff's aren't going anywhere in life. He wouldn't be a happy Hufflepuff even if he has a few friends in that house he would feel as though he wasn't going to succeed and feed his ambitions with victory.
