I'm not administrating on this - merely pointing out what I see as a player.
Cerelia's app.Here are some of the main things that are different that need to be in both apps.
• The Averys are German, along with Talia. The daughter is named Cerelia and I named the twins as an NPC method of referral ‘Caius and Bastien.’ I highly doubt they would name their son something drastically different like ‘Logan’. They’re a conservative, traditional family. They’ve resided in Wales for a long, long time. Logan is Gaelic and especially popular in America. It makes no sense in terms of their own heritage, their names and Cerelia's.
• Potter’s Army is not something Adolphus would approve of and, more importantly, something he would find out about. Cerelia would not think twice about telling on her brother and, for it, he’d get a lot worse than ire. Primarily, Cerelia's involvement is spy-work. If you want him in Potter's Army, he'd need to do the same.
• The Averys are blonde, primarily. There is very little deviation from that. They’re quite fond of the Nazi ideals of Aryan features - blonde, blue eyed, striking bone structure, etc. They also dress incredibly traditionally and if they’re not in some form of dress robes, it’s very smart. He wouldn’t get away with wearing ‘Muggle clothes’ around their home.
• He’s weak at lying - he wouldn’t get away with being part of Potter’s Army. He also doesn’t come off as a Slytherin. Where’s the cunning, the resourcefulness, the desire to forward himself and the aspirations that usurp any other fleeting desires? Seriousness, is something he’d need lest he wanted to be Crucio-ed for his trouble.
• The children grew up around the Rookwoods, the Yaxleys, the Malfoys, the Macnairs, Goyles, Carrows -
Death Eaters. Seems as though he must venture across his worst fear quite often.
• The brother has a name. If you read
Cerelia’s app you will see that amongst all of the other things. Granted, their collective character has evolved since but much of it is solid and already established. A PM wouldn’t have gone amiss either, prior to composing the app.
• Talia is deceased.
• The maternal grandparents are called Isabelle and Charles Eberhardt. The paternal grandparents are called Astrid and Bernard Avery.
• They live in a castle with many of their other relatives.
• They weren’t raised by House Elves. They were served by them. Raised by a mixture of nannies, wet nurses, tutors and the occasional but vital input from their mother. Adolphus was sleeping with Cerelia’s wet nurse.
• When Talia found out, she ran way to Munich. She was brought home, tried to assert herself but was repressed again. See the early description of the relationship between Adolphus and Talia to understand why. Obviously, she was severely depressed and is rumoured to have taken her own life though it is suspected Adolphus killed her.
• Adolphus remarried a woman named Adriana who already had a daugther, Erica, whom he both now torments and abuses, just as he does the rest of his immediate family members.
• Cerelia was sent to Durmstrang, not Hogwarts. The boys, I do believe,
were. She joined them at Hogwarts after her O.W.Ls. That summer, they went on holiday to Italy with the Delacours.
• Currently, the family is dealing with the Rookwoods - specialising with illegal potions.
The thing is that you don't appear to have read Cerelia's app and you haven't contacted me to talk about the character either. I've outlined the family and the brothers as well as the cousins, grandparents, etc. That's a lot of work. To disregard that all is really, rather hurtful and it is a slight that will leave me bruised for a while.
Apologies for my brusqueness. It's because I care about the integrity of my character and that of her family. We need to be on the same page with them. Otherwise, there's no point.
