What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. (ooc: sorry for the short, not amazing reply I'm super tired and off to bed now! Night)

Bertie grinned. 'Yeah, maybe I should get you a mobile phone so you can learn a bit of Muggle communication.' he joked, showing each of his white teeth that had been aligned by a brace that'd he'd had to wear for the past three years.

'Oh yeah! I forgot you're going Greece!' Bertie gasped as he watched Vivianna attempt to find the quill. He wasn't going to say it didn't matter if she couldn't find it, after all they could try it out in the Great Hall tonight at the evening meal. 'Who is it you're going with again?' He asked conversationally, opening the notebook in anticipation of Vivianna's words appearing on his.

((Don't worry about it, mine isn't much better.))

"Naw," the Slytherin said with a slow shake of her head, "it would be a waste of money, I'd never be able to use it. I'm always around by way too much magic, wouldn't want it to explode or something." As interesting of an idea as it was, Vivianna did spend a large majority of her time around magic. Such was the life of the magic-raised population.

"Yep, I'm excited," the girl admitted, "I read up a bit of the Greek myths, they're seriously fascinating." Pulling out her own notebook and preparing to write something in it, the redhead continued with their conversation. "Zane's going, and Cordella, she's one of my housemates. Other than that, no-one I particularly care about," Vivianna stated, aware of how rude that might sound, but not really caring.

Furrowing her brows, the teenager balanced her notebook on one raised knee, and began to write. Hey Bertie-kins, she spelled out in wobbly letters, looking up at the Ravenclaw when she had finished.

At the mention of Vivianna reading up on Greek myths, Bertie too had found refuge in the library since the mention of Viv's trip. For a creative individual like Bertie it was only natural he wanted to find out about the place where Vivianna was going on holiday - the Ravenclaw had even wrote a novel fusing the Greek Goddess Medusa with the world of Hogwarts, unfortunately it had got burnt to ash so he had never had time to share it with his Slytherin friend

'Have you been reading up on the Greek Gods? Or the history. You know their way of healing was so different from ours, I mean they focused on four main fluids as opposed to the different organ systems we do. Oooo! Have you read about the story of the Trojan horse?' Finally taking a breath from his verbal frenzy he simply added: 'I have been reading up too. It sounds such an amazing place, even the Olympics originated from there... Oh. You probably won't know what that is?' Again the fact that Vivianna had not grew up in the Muggle world had slipped his mind, chances are she wouldn't know about sports and athletic events such as the shot put and badminton. The Ravenclaw often did that during his sudden everlasting brainwaves, he got lost in his thoughts and forgot details such as the fact Vivianna was no Muggle born.

Gazing down at the notepad he watched Vivianna's words appear. 'This really is like a mobile phone Vivi-pie' Bertie playfully replied, giggling. He would have wrote it reply had he had his quill but not expecting to have needed it it was up in the Ravenclaw Tower with Snidget. Come to think of it, Bertie without a quill was rather unusual, what if an incredible idea had suddenly struck him?

"Mostly the Gods and myths stuff," the redhead admitted, "you know that there are entire books about how the Gods were really just a handful of wizards messing around?" Vivianna thought that those wizards were a combination of very smart and very cruel. No-one would be able to get away with something like that these days, not with the Ministry breathing down everyone's necks.

"No clue what the Olympics are," the witch stated with an easy shrug. Reaching out to ruffle at Bertie's hair, the girl smiled. When it came down to it, the witch was pretty sure that she learned more about the muggle world from Bertie, than her peers learned from their Muggle Studies Professor some days.

"Oh hush," Vivianna said jokingly. While her tone may have been joking, she certainly wasn't. After all, the girl was almost positive that there wasn't a more undignified name out there than Vivi-pie. She did deserve it though, so the Slytherin would let her imaginative little brother off this time.

Casually glancing around, the student let out of chain of swears that would have impressed the crudest of males. Remembering her current company, Viviannna sent Bertie an apologetic grin. Closing her eyes for a moment and letting out a regretful sigh, the Slytherin returned her gaze to what had made her mouth loose its filter. A 6th year Slytherin was striding purposely towards them with her features fixed into an impressive scowl. The younger girl had promised Potions help in exchange for Transfigurations, and the other witch seemed rather displeased that the redhead would rather hide than study. Grumpily turning her face back to Bertie, the witch pouted a little and stated, "never, ever make a deal with a Slytherin." Upon realizing exactly what had just come out of her mouth, Vivianna was quick to add, "except me."

Bertie tilted her head and gazed at Vivianna, his eyes full of interest. Indeed the Ravenclaw had explored Greeky mythology and the tales of the Trojans but he hang actually come across the stories Vivianna was describing. In fact they seemed a lot more interesting than Medusa the seperent haired monster who turned folks to stone. Now he thought about it, all the God's abilities were nothing that a powerful witch or wizard could do. 'I bet it would be fun to pretend to be a God.' Bertie said, his eye now gazing up at the puffy White clouds in thought. Of course he would want to be the God of imagination. How he would do that he wasn't quiet sure. Maybe he would induce dreams into people? He could change the world doing that, cause villians to have dreams that'd change their morals? Then again there was always literature: causing novels to come to life or sending people into books.

His thoughts were quickly punctured by Vivianna stating what the Olympics were. He didn't think she were stupid, most witches and wizards probably had no sea what they were. 'It's like a big sporting event. Everyone across the world comes together once every four years to compete in sporting tournaments. There is literally almost every Muggle sport. It's pretty cool.' This was something, saying the Olympics was 'cool'. Bertie wasn't the sporty type. He tolerated Quidditch matches if the weather was good - it was always nice to support Ravenclaw - but it was something that never interested him. The Olympics on the other hand excited him. Bertie loved the cultural aspects of the Olympics. Thousands upon thousands of people getting together, learning from each other and all in all having fun!

The Ravenclaw couldn't help but let out a chuckle and bite his lip as A string of swear words swept from the Slytherin's mouth. Viv did this from time to time, forget who she was with. Not that it bothered Bertie, he found it rather amusing how Vivianna spoke her mind. It was an admirable quality, even if it did get her intro trouble. The brown eyes of Bertie Nogard flicked to where his older sister was staring. An older student, who happened to be a Slytherin according to Viv, was strolling over. Hopefully he wouldn't be sent away whilst they had a private conversation, he was rather eager and fond d the happenings in the life of Vivianna Varnes. 'Who is-?' But before Bertie could finish his questionthe Slytherin had arrived at the pair, staring down at Vivianna.

"Someone Varnes promised to meet almost half an hour ago," the other Slytherin replied in a nasally tone that somehow managed to sound haughty and sulky at the same time.

Vivianna sighed sadly, knowing that she really didn't want to annoy her housemate any further. While the other girl wasn't particularly intelligent or cunning, she certainly was quite ambitious. Due to this, the elder girl had managed to befriend almost everyone of importance or use in the upper two years of Hogwarts. In other words, upsetting this girl gave you a lot of enemies. The redhead figured that she had her fair share of those already.

"I think it'd be a good idea for me to go," the girl told Bertie quietly. She'd tried to explain Slytherin politics to the other student once; the conversation had ended with a frustrated Vivianna and a still-confused Bertie. Taking a small step towards her bag, the witch stumbled a little and tripped. In an attempt to make her fall look intentional, Vivianna angled herself so that she landed neatly on her butt. Crossing her legs, the redhead began to gather all of her things and return them to their rightful place in her bag. Hoping Bertie wouldn't say anything about her trip, with the knowledge that she was trying to keep her uncoordinated tendencies from her housemates, the girl quickly pushed herself back onto her feet.

Leaning close to the Ravenclaw, Vivianna pulled him into a swift hug. With a muttered, "you better write me Bertsie," the teen released him and stalked off towards the scowling female.

Bertie smiled as Vivianna said that she needed to leave. The other Slytherin sneered down her nose at Bertie grumpily. He loved Vivianna but would hate to be in any house but Ravenclaw. The Slytherins always seemed to look an unpleasant lot - apart from the odd few. Then Gryffindors were very loud, sounded their own trumpet and the lads were too lad-lads, something Bertie didn't get on terribly with having never had to socialise with males properly. Finally that left Hufflepuff. He guessed that wouldn't be too bad, sure they had a reputation for being a load of duffers but they seemed friendly and worked hard to do well. In fact, Bertie wouldn't have minded being sorted into Hufflepuff at all but Ravenclaw was still the house for him.

A giggle passed Bertie's lips as Vivianna tumbled over being her usual clumsy self. What amused him even more was the way she recovered by making it seem she wanted to sit down to pick up her things. Luckily for Viv the Slytherin hadn't noticed and looked oddly at Bertie as he began to laugh some more. 'Don't mind me, I was just laughing at the clouds.'

Wow. What an awful excuse Bertie said as he looked across the lake and up at the sky. The cloudless sky. Now the Slytherin was almost certain to think Bertie to be some sort of lunatic, which she probably wouldn't be surprised by seeing as the house of wit beyond measure churned out more individualistic students than the others.

'Make sure you write back!' Bertie laughed as he hug farewell to his older sister until September the first. It was always both a sad and happy time the summer holidays. He felt bad that he most likely wouldn't see his friends until the return in September when everyone had gotten that much taller, fresh haircuts and deeper voices. Although it was worth it to see his Mum. Besides Viv he was closest to his Mum and he missed her a lot more than he made out. Maybe it was the fact she was a single parent and he an only child that strengthened their bond?

Watching Viv walk away he picked up the Magichat that was sat on the grass besides him and made his way back to the castle, taking a scenic stroll past the greenhouses and looking over at the mountain tops. Farewell Hogwarts.
