Insomnia

Due to Dakota's sleeping issues she and her brother had received a detention. So solomly she headed up to the detention room on the third floor. Luckily she didn't get lost this time as she moved along on her way up the stairs on the grand stair case. Finally she entered the room and took a seat at one of the desks. She sat with her knees folded up in front of her and her arms around her legs as she looked up at the clock. How much longer would she have to be in this room? Where was nick? Dakota closed her eyes as her head rested on her knees. She haddnt gotten much sleep

Nick was late to detention. As he was going to the room he ran into his brother Kaden. Kaden pushed him into a wall and gave him a wedgie, he then proceeded to take Nick's left shoe. Crying, Nick walked into detention and sat by his sister. "Kaden hurt me and took my shoe" he said through tears. His brothers teamed up with Nick's bullies and messed with him. "Everybody but Layton beats me up and helps my bullies hurt me" he told her. Nick wiped his tears on his twin's shirt and sniffled his nose.

"Not every body." Dakota said tilting her head to the side to look at nick. She yawned and laid he head back down. "Did you get any sleep last night." She asked quietly and closed her eyes again. It was obvious she haddnt. She got up long enough to move her hair closer to his and leaned against nick using him like a pillow as she sat there in the wooden uncomfortable chair

"No" he said quietly in response to her question. It was clear she hadn't. Nick could see the circles forming around her eyes. "Maybe we could camp out somewhere where nobody would find us. We could both sleep" he suggested. It was a good idea, he thought his sister may not go for it. Nick always slept easier when he was with his twin. She comforted him. He thought maybe because they were twins.

"With my luck they would find us." Dakota murmured her breathing slowing as she rested her head on nicks shoulder. "I wish they didn't have stupid rules here that got us in trouble for doing things when we are unable to sleep." She whispered pouting slightly. "It's all my fault we are in here." She added. This moment was when Dakota was in her most comfortable state. She had her brother and only him. She did not stammer or stutter, she did not stumble over her words. She yawned and looked up at nick and asked. "Why did mommy dad daddy have to have so many kids?"

The twin's moment didn't last long. Soon a teacher came in. "What are you kids doing! Break up the little love fest" he yelled. A large book was dropped in front of Nick. "You will rewrite all five hundred pages" he told Nick. Then the teacher pointed to Dakota. "Clean this room spotless" he yelled. "I-I'm s-s-sca-red" Nick said stuttering like his sister. Nick did more things like his sister. He wanted to be just like her.

Dakota stared up at the professor in front of her wide eyed. "L-Love f-fest?" she stammered over her question. she wasn't sure what a love fest was or why they were being told brake it up. She sat there unmoving aside from a slight shaking from how the man had startled her. "W-what i-is a l-love f-fest?" she asked looking at Nick before slowly getting up and walking over to a messy book shelf. she started to tidy up the shelves like she had been told. With another yawn she lifted her hand up to her mouth to cover it.

Around fifteen minutes had passed. Nick only could write ten pages of the book before his wrist couldn't move anymore. The teacher began to shout. Nick pushed the person down and ran away crying. Not even caring to look at his twin and what she was doing. Nick now sat in front of the detention room with his knees up to his face as he cried. Thoughts began to creep into nick's mind like, what if I get expelled or, what if Dakota gets punished more.

Dakota turned around when she heard someone fall over and just out of the corner of her eye she saw her brother running out the door. She watched the professor wide eyed for a minute before fallowing after her brother. "Nick?" she called once outside the door looking back and fourth down the corridor. "Nick!" she exclaimed running towards him and sliding on her knees as she neared him. Putting her arms around nick she hugged her brother. "I never want to go back in there." She whispered bowing her head against his.

Nick was happy that his sister was by him now. She comforted him like no one else could. "But Dakota what if we get expelled. I pushed that lady down and snapped" he said through tears. Nick had never assaulted another person. He was afraid he had started to change. What if he did it again like his bullies. "Am I becoming a bully. Will I hurt more people" he asked his sister as he tried to stop crying.
