Just a few blocks from Jack's home was a muggle community. Jack liked it because it wasn't far from a few known wizarding streets, but it was far enough that she never worried about running into people she knew. Rather than doing her shopping somewhere where people recognized her as a Quidditch star or as the ex-Head of the magical creatures department in the Ministry, she chose to walk a little farther that necessary to enjoy the anonymity of the muggle world.
Today, however, fate had aligned to ensure she did not get to have a day of normalcy or of peace. She had just begun to enter a corner store when the distant sound of a screaming woman invaded Jack's sensitive ear. She turned, looking around. The muggles around her had heard but had chalked it up to nothing. She cursed her predicament and took off running after the sound.
It didn't take long. Jack saw a sprawled figure on a relatively abandoned piece of concrete just two streets over. She could see no figure, nor any immediate signs. Her gut reaction was that this was a magical crime. She stooped and turned the woman over, immediately discovering the victim to be Susan Bones.
There was no way this had been a muggle. Too big a coincidence.
Jack had no idea what had happened to Susan, so, utilizing all of the strength training from the team, she hoisted Susan up, turned on her heel, and apparated them to St. Mungo's.
