Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Interruption To Being Miserable Empty Interruption To Being Miserable

Post by Amelia Macmillan Sun Dec 09, 2012 6:05 pm

Amelia nearly threw her charms book across the library. She was ready to explode. Everything was wrong besides her magic. That was the one thing that didn’t matter. Chad hasn’t disappeared, so Amelia has figured they are over. It hurts but she at least knew what her father meant now. She was so angry she wanted to burn the whole world in an inferno. Her mother wasn’t really angry as one would have thought just surprised. She was back to being herself again. Once again she was clinging to her mother from security. She felt weak but knew she wasn't really, it wasn't weak to rely on your family she got that now.

What she didn’t was an interruption to this miserable living nightmare. She needed someone to show up and distract her. She hadn’t even tried to talk to Alice yet, she wasn’t completely sure if she mad or not with Alice. It didn’t help the Neville had asked Amelia to spy on Alice, which she did because she was worried too. It seemed so wrong but it had to be right.

Nick walked into the library to study on potions. He walked to the counter where the Liberian was and showed her the title of the book he needed. The Liberian pointed to the far side of the room where there were a few people studying.

Nick was looking though the shelf for his book, but out of nowhere a book hit him in his knee. Nick picked up the book and looked at it, Charms for dummies it read. Nick walked over to the girl that looked like she threw it. "Does this belong to you?" He asked

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hit anyone,” Amelia said quickly. She hadn’t seen him before, but then again he looked a few years older than her so that would be why she didn’t know him, Edgar didn’t like her talking to boys older than her but she had found boys her own age were worse to hang around. Merlin had that headache came on quickly, too much thinking at once. The nurses were right; stress was not good for her astral projection. She can’t help it her life is what is though. The only good thing she wasn’t walking around the school seeing her dead siblings everywhere.

“Amelia Macmillan, by the way,” Amelia said. She didn’t want to seem rude, he probably already though she was crazy which really wasn’t anymore. She had been for a few months, who knew falling in a hole is a cure of insanity. She was trying to be positive but it’s hard.

"It's ok" he told her. She looked innocent to Nick, she also looked stressed out. "I'm Nick, Nick Potter" Nick introduced. "It's nice to meet you Amelia" he told her. Nick knew that she was a prefect but he didn't know what house she was in though. "If you need some help with charms, I know almost every charm they teach here" Nick offered. The Liberian was yelling at them to be quiet. Nick pulled out his wand and casted the silencing charm on her.

“You shouldn’t do that to her, she is still an adult,” Amelia said with a smile. To be honest Amelia would have done the same but she couldn’t quite say that being perfect. She hated being perfect, how does a rule breaker become perfect? She never would understand why they chose her as perfect but then again she didn’t start breaking rules until this year.

“I’ve missed a lot of class due to unfortunate situations. I never used to have problems with charms until I fell behind,” she said a bit embarrassed. It was quite embarrassing to her. She takes a lot of pride in her academics and to admit she needed help was quite hard for her to do. Well, she can’t help it she’s stubborn.

Nick undid the silencing charm on the Liberian. "There's no reason to feel embarrassed, everybody falls behind"Nick told her. Nick actually fell behind in potions himself. It was the reason he failed his seventh year last year. Nick could tell that Amelia had some sort of emptiness inside her. Nick had met someone with an ability called Astral Projection, he got the same sort of vibe from her. The Liberian walked over to them and said that if she heard them again then they would get kicked out of the library and get detention.

“We are just studying together. I don’t see what the problem is if we study together,” said Amelia lying so easily it kind of scared her. She always had been good at lying, it annoyed the heck of her little brother when he couldn’t figure out if she was lying or not. It was a gift and curse she supposed. She only used it to get out of trouble.

“Do you mind helping me out figuring out what I missed?” she asked trying to seem as innocent as possible. If she hadn’t been trying to get rid of the librarian she would have laughed. Anyone who thinks she is innocent is crazy. She was anything but innocent.

The Liberian didn't look convinced but she left. "Nice job, but this is better" Nick said. He pulled out his wand and pointed it at the Liberian. Nick casted peterficus tortalius at the Liberian nonverbally and moved her out of sight. "I've been here for eight years I know my way around some spells" he told her. "So do you have any family that goes here" Nick asked. He went and pulled a small book out of his pocket and enlarged it. "Every time I learn a new spell I record it in this book, it's better than any other spell book out there, you can borrow it" Nick told her.

Amelia just shook her head; there was no reason to argue the fact it was improper to do that to a teacher, he reminded her of Edger. As soon as he asked her if she had family here she got sick to her stomach, she guessed not everyone knew about what happened to Edger and Claire. “I have two siblings here currently. I have two others who were here a few weeks ago,” she said coldly. It only made it worst she couldn’t remember what had happen clearly anymore just that woman’s voice after Edgar went to the ground lifelessly.

“You don’t have to give that to me, I don’t want to lose it. I can just ask my professor for help,” she said unsure rather to take the book or not. She didn’t want to lose the book and she didn’t even know his name. What if she lost it? She’d feel horrible.

"I know it's bad to do it but I don't care, I just like to have fun" Nick told her. Nick listened to what she said about her family. "Oh I'm sorry" he told her apologetically. Nick felt bad for Amelia, looking a sibling. "Lets change the subject" Nick said. Nick wanted to get her mind off her family. Nick drew his wand and pointed it at the desk. He nonverbaly set a charm on it to change the boring old desk to a desk that is so thin that if anything was set on it, it would break. "I want you to practice your charms, take this book and find the thickening charm to reverse it" Nick told her, handing her a book in the process.
