Many students find Selwyn loud and obnoxious. His willingness to make a fool of himself in public leads many to miss the astute person behind that facade. He is increasingly paranoid about being part veela and now tries to hide more than highlight it the way he did when he was younger.
Selwyn has a natural inclination to take advantage of others, which he struggles with constantly. Often, he will even embark on a manipulation only to abort his attempt halfway through because of his conscience wearing on him.

Early Years: Selwyn grew up in the Scottish Highlands with his parents, where he lives in a mouldering great house that his family can barely afford to maintain since they got rid of the staff.
He spent his summers in Lahr visiting his grandmother and his veela kin. Though Selwyn, being part human, finds it difficult to get along with them at all.
Hogwarts Years:
During his years at Hogwarts, Selwyn has been better known for causing disruption than for his intelligence or ability. However this hasn't prevented him from gaining a position on the Slytherin quidditch team nor representing his house in other interschool competitions.
