Lily never thought she would be the scariest thing at a Halloween celebration, but apparently her heavily lidded eyes and droll expression was enough to send young children skittering around her. She was going to go the masquerade eventually, but she first wanted to get her kicks in Hogsmeade. She had a ton of money burning a hole in her pocket, and Albus had said he would treat her to a caramel apple. So, the night wouldn't be horrible.
She wore her skeleton costume that night, trying to ignore the thought of how small she would be if she were just bones. She strolled down the street, her red hair crazy and all around her face, her makeup just as dark and daunting as it usually was. Her nails were painted black, as was her attitude. She had showed up in an okay mood, but she now felt irritable- those kids were making a huge show of being afraid of her.
She strolled by an autumn themed booth, and she poked her head inside. "Where is the haunted house at this year?" The clerk looked up, pointing. "Down de ways to da Shriekin' Shack, 'tis miss." Lily jerked her head in understanding and turned, strolling down the way, being stopped and hindered on occasion by the crowd.
