Discovering in darkness

Dungeons! This castle had dungeons, and so far, Fionn had never heard one teacher threaten to lock anyone up in them. They gave people detentions when they could have chained the students up in the dark for a week. It was intolerable; here he was living in a fully fledged fantasy and nobody was acting properly fantastic at all.

But since nobody was using the dungeons - well, nobody but the Slytherins and they didn't seem to make all that great use of them - it was fair for him to take them over. If he felt like it. If it was worth it.

It was really dark down here, even with the torches that flickered into light ahead of him as he made his way deeper and further into the dungeon depths.

"Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" he called out, and then listened to the sound echo back again.

oooh oooh oooh oooh

Chad was taking a walk in the dungeons, the dungeons were his new home since coming to hogwarts he spent more time down here then in his common room sleeping. It was funny, the dungeons provided light, and warmth. It was the only place where he could sit down and study, well besides the clock tower.

"Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" he heard a boy say. Why would he be down here this time of night. He walked around a corner, and saw the blonde haired boy, who must've made the echo. "What would you be doing here this time of night?" he said, in an almost evil tone.

These twisted passageways must be longer than Fionn had guessed. It was just past five when Fionn had decided to explore down here, but maybe his sense of time had got a little screwed up. One thing that hadn't got screwed up was his sense of perception. The older boy was trying to intimidate him.

"Just having a look around," he replied, puffing out a cloud of mist with the words.

Was it getting colder down here?

"What's it to you? You don't own the dungeons, do you?"

"Oh you never know, I might just' he said, circling the boy, he could tell he was a first year easily, most first years were eager to explore unlike some of the older grades who found the dungeons dank and foul, Chad was the exception. "You know, these black and twisting paths can be quite confusing, we wouldn't want you to get lost," he said, in a toying tone. He was of course joking.

He was quite glad to have a courageous Slytherin in his house, but it was still fun to toy with him. "I'm Chad," he said holding out his hand, "and you might be?"
