"Power."
That was Alexis' answer to Ashley's questions about their family. "Power and money. Those are the main reasons why our family had grown apart. That and pride. If we get sorted into a certain house we are outcasted, if we don't do something the way dad wants us too, we're outcasted. It all works that way with the d'Eaths. All we can do is cope with it." she said softly.
When she said if they get sorted into a certain house, she was talking about Damitrius. The girl was basically outcasted from the family because she was sorted into Gryffindor. Their father wasn't the one who did it though, in fact he could care less, it was Damien and the other Slytherin members of the family who had outcasted her. And though she won't show it, Alexis knew her younger sister struggled with that. Because of that sudden hate towards her, she'd begun to show interest in the Dark Arts and even in the Dark Followers, she wanted to fit in with their family, but she was a part of Potter's Army, so she wasn't sure how Damitrius was going to deal with that.
She sighed softly, and with the second part she was basically talking about herself. Her father wanted them all to be a part of something that she didn't want to be a part of. That was why she'd chosen not to move into what used to be called Malfoy Manor. She still preferred to keep her distance, she only went there when there was a Death Eater meeting and even then she was a bit reluctant to go in. "All the greed and cruelty that goes on in the family ruined it more than we know." she said sadly.
