Approval

Atticus stood in front of the mirror in his room, fixing the collar of his shirt. He really hated suits, but he was thankful that he didn't always have to wear them. He always preferred to wear other types of formal clothing, suits were a little too formal - and boring - for him. But, he had to wear it now because his mother said it was important for him to look his best tonight. He hadn't understood why, but he knew she would throw a tantrum if he questioned her and he tried his best to find out from his father, who also knew very little about what was going on.

It all seemed a little too suspicious to the both of them but they knew better than to question Jessica. She did seem to be all happy and excited about something though, and that made Atticus very curious as to what she was planning. The only thing she decided to tell him and Miles was that it involved Kiara, his fiancee. That made him worry a bit, but Jessica had told him it was nothing he should worry about, so he tried his best to not do just that. But it really wasn't working out for him.

"Atticus, get down here quickly! They'll be here soon!" Jessica called from the living room.

"I'll be right down Mum!" he called back and sighed, taking one last look in the mirror before grabbing his wand, putting it in his back pocket and walking down to the living room to join his parents. "Can you tell us what's going on now, Mum?" he asked as he approached them both. Miles gave a shrug, he clearly still knew nothing and Jessica merely smiled.

"You'll see soon dear. Just be patient." she said, smiling at him and looking over at Miles, who still looked as confused as ever. She was obviously planning something that no one would except of her. He just hoped it wasn't something that would embarrass him.

Apparently it had to be a big accasion for her mother was running around the house like a chicken with her head cut of barking orders at her and her father. Kiara had no clue what was going on, but the next thing she knew she was in a sliver strapless dress that went to the floor with little diamonds on it that sparkled in the sunlight. "Sit!"her mother ordered as she point to the chair in front of Kiara's mirror that had her make-up and hair prouducts on it. "Yes mother."said Kiara sighing as she faced her mother as her mother grabbed the brush of the dresser and started doing Kiara's hair. After a few minutes of tugging and pulling and wincing in pain Kiara's hair was put back in a nice bun. "I'll let you do your make-up pumpkin, but please been down soon."said Kiara's mother softly.

"Yes mother."said Kiara softly as she started putting on her make-up not really knowing what the occasion was but she always wanted to look nice. Although she nevered put to much on for Kiara believed in natural beauty which was what Atticus liked about her. After a fetw minutes Kiara came down and looked at her father. "Daddy do you know what's going on?"Kiara asked him softly. "Not a clue princess."said her father softly looking in the mirror adjusting his suit. "Something must be going on, that's really important."Kiara thought to herself.

"Are we ready?"her mother asked wearing a black dress with diamonds on it just like Kiara's was. Kiara didn't know what it was, but her mother loved diamonds or something sparkley on it. "Yes mother."said Kiara still wanting to know what was going on. As Kiara's mother handed the keys to her father she pushed them out the door and gotten out her wand and flicked it as the door locked.

"Atticus, what is it with you and not liking these suits?" Jessica exclaimed when she noticed him tugging at the collar and pulling the cuffs of the suit uncomfortably.

Atticus shrugged and said, "I don't know Mum. I just don't like them. You know that. Why do I have to wear it?" he asked her and Jessica frowned slightly.

"You have to wear it because I'm telling you too. This is important, I don't want you looking like a slob for this." she poorly explained to her son.

Atticus raised an eyebrow and sighed. "Fine. But once you say whatever you have to say, I'm changing." he told her. Jessica began to protest but Miles stopped her by saying it was fine. That he could change as soon as everything was over. Jessica and Miles stared at each other for a few moments, leaving Atticus to wonder what went on in those moments when they didn't need to speak to know what the other was saying and then Jessica just nodded.

Atticus gave one last tug at the cuffs of his suit, before Melee came into the living room and announced that their guests would soon be there and that dinner was almost ready. Another big galla dinner? Just what was his mother up too. He exchanged a look with his father, in which Miles smiled at him and for once, that calmed Atticus. Whenever his father smiled at him throughout his childhood, it was because something had gone wrong and it would come out bad for both him and Atticus. This time though, it gave Atticus a feeling of security and he sighed softly as he waited for Kiara and her parents to get there.

After getting the car Kiara's mother told her father where they were going in a whisper to where Kiara couldn't hear them. As her father nodded her father took off and started driving through London towards the direction of Atticus house. Were they going back to Atticus house? If they were, Kiara felt a bit better for she was going to see Atticus after not seeing him for awhile. Although she was a bit nervous, last time she was here Atticus mother didn't like her.

"Are we going back to Atticus place mom?"Kiara asked her softly as they passed a bunch of houses that they passed when they went to Atticus's place. "You'll see sooner or later, Pumpkin."said her mother softly. "Yes mother."said Kiara softly sighing to herself. After a few minutes, her father pulled into Atticus's house which made Kiara happy. "Come on Kiara and Joe, we must not keep them waiting!"said her mother Evelyn. Straightening her dress Kiara gotten out and walked in the middle of her mother and father. Reaching the door Kiara's father rang the door and waited.

The door bell rang and Jessica summoned Melee to go open the door for the Lawrence family. Right now, Atticus wasn't sure if he should feel happy or even more nervous than before. Jessica seemed calm enough and Miles seemed even more calm than usual. That was s good sign, when his parents were calm, that meant something good was going to happen, especially if it was Jessica who was calm. Please, don't let anything ruin whatever Mum has planned. Atticus thought softly.

"Welcome Mr and Mrs. Lawrence. Young Mistress Kiara." Melee said. "Masters Atticus and Miles, and Mistress Jessica are waiting for you in the living room." the house elf explained and motioned for them to follow her.

Atticus was a bit surprised to hear Melee call Kiara Mistress. She'd never do that unless his mother told her too, which meant that Jessica gave consent for Melee to call her that. That was another good sign. Atticus sighed softly in relief as Melee came into the room, leading Kiara and her parents into it as well. "Hello Kiara. You look lovely as always." he greeted his future wife with a kiss on the cheek. "Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence." Atticus smiled at her parents, holding his hand out to them.

Kiara raised her eyebrows in surprise as the house elf called her 'young Mistress Kiara.' Atticus told her that Melee only called somone master or mistress was when she was told by Mr. or Mrs. Bletchley to do so. Although she was rather pleased that Melee was calling her that. Walking further into the house she gave Mr. and Mrs. Bletchley a soft warm smile. "Hello Mr and Mrs. Bletchley , fancy seeing you two again."said Kiara softly. Kiara was surprise that Atticus's mother wasn't glaring down at her like last time, she was rather calm.

"Hello Atticus love, and thankyou you look sharp and handsome as always."said Kiara kissing his cheek. "Hello Attcius boy, nice to see you again!"said Joesph Kiara's father shaking his hand and smiling at him. "Hello Atticus, it's lovely seeing you again."said Evelyn smiling at him. Kiara was glad everything was going as good as last time, she remebered last time it was a nightmare.

"Thank you." Atticus smiled at Kiara. "It's nice to see you both as well." Atticus smiled at the two of them and shook Kiara's father's hand. Jessica and Miles stepped forward, smiling at the three of them. Miles stuck his hand out to shake Mr. Lawrence's hand saying, "Good evening Joseph and Evelyn. Nice to see you both again." he said. Jessica smiled at Evelyn and Kiara before saying, "Nice to see you all again." in a gentle tone Atticus hadn't heard since he was very young.

Atticus looked down at Kiara, confused. "Do you know what this is all about?" he asked her. Melee walked back into the living room then and announced that the table was set and dinner was finished. "Fantastic!" Jessica smiled, clapping her hands together and she began to walk to the dining room. Atticus and Miles began to follow her and when Atticus got to the dining room, he was surprised to see that everything was even more extravagant than the last time.

Taking his seat at the table, Atticus decided to finally ask what was going on. "Mum, enough with the mystery now. What is all this about?" he asked. But Jessica still only smiled at him. "Just a little bit longer Atticus and everything will be cleared up." she smiled. Atticus sighed and looked at Kiara again.

Kiara was shocked that Atticus was so nice and calmed to her when last time she glared through Kiara like she was a wall. Looking at Atticus she gave him a 'what's going on?' look before looking at everyone and smiling. She was just glad things were going better then the last time, it was just a horrible night for her. Her and Atticus spent the rest of the night day the lake for it was so bad to her.

Kiara honestly didn't want anymore surprises, to be honest she just gotten over the fact her parents were witches and wizards instead of muggles. Following her Atticus and her parents to the lving room she took a seat beside Atticus. This was scaring Kiara a bit, for she didn't know what was in store for her or Atticus. But all she knows is that her mother and Atticus mother were really happy.

"Well whatever this is love, it must be good I never seen your mother this calm and gentle to me."said Kiara softly to Atticus. This had to be something good, for everyone was happy. Maybe just maybe, they could live happily ever after as one big happy family but she coulkd only dream.

"I guess. And my Dad is calm too, so that's a good sign. It mean my mum is really happy right now." he sighed in relief. He just wished his mother would get on with whatever she had to say. It was getting annoying that she took every opportunity to get off track, and make them wait longer than they should have. But then again, that was how Jessica usually was, and while he was normally very patient with his mother, this he just couldn't be as patient for.

"Alrighty then. Is everyone set?" Jessica asked.

Atticus looked around at everyone. They all seemed comfortable enough. Atticus stopped at his father and they made eye contact for a few seconds. Miles shrugged shortly after and Atticus sighed again. He really hated that his mother wouldn't tell her husband anything, because then he was left without a clue about what was going on half the time. Atticus looked at his mother and nodded, telling her to go on because everyone was ready to hear what she had to say.

"Right, well the reason we're all here today is to talk about the marriage between Atticus -" she gestured to him, "and Kiara." she gestured to Kiara with a smile. "At first I wasn't all that happy about finding out that my only son was going to marry a muggleborn. Or a halfblood actually. But I thought about it and I saw how happy Kiara made my son, and I decided that she would make a wonderful wife for him. So I'll support the two of you completely."

Atticus braced himself for whatever she was going to say but he was caught a bit off guard by what it was. He just couldn't believe that his mother would actually say that she approved. He looked at her with disbelief but when she smiled at him, Atticus felt a smile tug at the corners of his lips and he looked at Kiara, smiling.

Kiara was getting really impatient on finding out what the bloody hell was going on. She was usually a very patient girl, but she was really starting to get ticked off at this waiting. Although she was alittle ticked off that her mother didn't tell her that she was going to go to Atticus house her fiancé and love of her life. Kiara looked at Atticus with a mixture of a confused look and annoyed look.

As Kiara heard what Atticus mother said she felt like she was going to faint from shockness. "Oh my gosh Atticus love, did you hear that?"Kiara asked him smiling as she hugged him happily. "Thankyou Mrs. Bletchley, this means the world to me and I promise I'll take care of him."said Kiara giving her a soft warm smile. Kiara was glad that her mother accepted her which meant the world to her.

"So... when shall we start planning the wedding Jessica?"Evelyn asked her happily beaming with joy. "From what I heard Kiara and Atticus done some planning right pumpkin?"Evelyn asked her daughter. "Yes, mother already helped me pick out my dress."said Kiara softly. "Oh Jessica you just have to see it, you will just love it!"said Evelyn mother. "Well... let the wedding planning begin!"said Kiara softly to Atticus laughing happily.
