Retreat

Naomi sat at the bar, nursing her Firewhiskey as she rubbed her tired eyes. The poor woman had not left Hogsmeade in a few days, recovering from some of the worst nights of her life. Losing Felix, and then three days on the run without food or rest- needless to say, the married woman was feeling rather broken down at the moment.

The bartender asked if he could do anything for her and she shook her head, sinking down as he walked away. Oy. She needed a break.

Darien had decided to go to the bar as well, with his problems. He was sad, he was always sad, and he really liked to drink. Though he looked happy. He looked happy for others, so they wouldn't ask, what's wrong with him, because he didn't like talking about his life. So there he was, entering the bar.
Darien sat down next to some tired-looking woman and ordered himself a Firewhiskey. Waiting for the bottle to arrive, he looked back at the woman he sat next to and bit his lip, before he asked: "Hey, are you alright there?"
She looked really tired and sad, she as definitely in worse shape than he was. And Darien couldn't help but be curious and ask.

Naomi felt a presence join her and she tried to ignore it, focusing on her drink rather than pay him any mind. But he addressed her- she would have very much liked to pretend she had not heard him, or move away, because it was no one's business what was wrong with her. She was a Greyback, and she was on the Ministry's most wanted. She did not need anyone's sympathy.

However, there was another part of her that desperately wanted some sort of release from all of her self pity. She was miserable but no one seemed to notice or care. So why spurn a willing ear? She took another drink and let out a long sigh, not even looking at the man next to her. "Man problems."

Darien smiled sadly. Man problems. Wasn't actually strange to him, he has man problems too... though it's already time for him to move on. Master moved on, he should too. "And now you're drinking because of that? Trust me, alcohol won't solve anything.." Darien knew. He was quite a mess after his Master left and was drinking. All day. For weeks. Barely ate anything. But it didn't solve his problems.

She looked over at the stranger, almost shocked he was trying to advise her on her life. She was Naomi Greyback. Wife of the most wanted Felix Barker, leader of a killer pack of werewolves, daughter to Fenrir. No one spoke to her like they could conceive what was going in her mind. With danger in her voice, she said, "Am I asking for a solution? Hmmm. There is no solution to some problems. There is only alcohol to numb the pain awhile." She whipped away, facing the other direction.

But Darien didn't know who she was. He knew almost no one around here. "Yeah, but that's only for a while. You'll have the pain even weeks after drinking. Actually, then you'll have pain and hangover." Darien smiled slightly and looked at her. "You know, you don't have to hold it in. I'm a good listener, if you want to talk. I don't want to pressure you, but just saying..."
